The WordPress default themes use an 880x660 screenshot.png for the the 421x329 theme preview image, but Largo's 300x225 screenshot gets stretched and appears blurry.

Should probably show one of the shiny new homepage layouts, too.

Had to zoom out a bit to show the new layouts, but here are options:

Full width with featured:

I defer to @kaeti, #1 looks the most sane to me though

We could also just use the logo.

Yeah, I'd vote for #1. That image seems a little cruncy still — can you get a bigger screenshot?

880x660 is the official screenshot size, so we're limited to that aspect ratio. I could zoom farther out, which makes everything smaller but shows more stuff below the image:

Or I could use a featured image for that post with a more-horizontal aspect ratio, but that seems misleading because we don't crop the featured images:

How do we feel like using a logo? It seems like any homepage screenshot we use is somewhat deceptive since there are so many homepage options...using a logo would mean we wouldn't have to update it when we add features/change the design/etc.

Everyone else has a screenshot of the theme.

those are the WP default themes (which, we can assume, represents what THEY think we should do) but I've seen logos used before for other commercial themes, etc.

If we're going to publish this on the WP themes repo, I think we should have either screenshots or links to member sites. Using our logo isn't bad if potential users can see somewhere what it looks like in use.

OK, let's just go with #1 for now then and just pick a photo/headline/excerpt for the lead story that makes it look as clean and representative as possible

Yeah for the themes repo, especially, I think we'd want to show the theme vs. just a logo.

Slightly wider view than #1, to show top story in list, and a better title for the hero story. The hero story is made up and uses a WordPress stock photo.
