MystTiq Minecraft Server Manager v0.15.0

System tray and start with Windows

MystTiq can now keep your servers running in the background, and bring them back after a reboot.

  • Close to tray:
    • Closing the window now hides MystTiq in the system tray, and your servers keep running.
    • Double-click the tray icon to open it again, or right-click it and choose Exit to quit. Running servers are stopped safely first, as before.
    • You can turn this off in Settings → App.
  • Start with Windows: in Settings → App, tick Start MystTiq in the tray when I sign in to Windows. This adds MystTiq to your user's start-up list, so no admin rights are needed. Untick it to remove it.
  • Start servers automatically: each server's Settings → Server tab has Start this server when MystTiq opens. Together with sign-in start, your servers are back up after a reboot. If MystTiq already downloaded the right Java for a server, it's used automatically.
  • Crash notifications: when a server crashes while MystTiq is in the tray or in the background, a Windows notification says so, and says whether it's being restarted.
  • One MystTiq at a time: opening MystTiq again while it's already running (for example from the Start menu while it's in the tray) brings the existing window forward. It no longer starts a second copy that would compete for the same servers.

MystTiq Minecraft Server Manager v0.11.0

Forge and NeoForge servers

Forge and NeoForge are now server types in Create Server, next to Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Folia and Fabric.

  • Install:
    • MystTiq downloads the official installer from maven.minecraftforge.net or maven.neoforged.net and checks it against the SHA-1 checksum the Maven repository publishes.
    • It then runs the installer once with Java (--installServer). This takes a few minutes because the installer downloads Minecraft and the loader's libraries. The installer is deleted afterwards.
    • The newest stable loader build for the chosen Minecraft version is used. A beta is used only when that version has no stable build.
  • Start:
    • Modern Forge and NeoForge start from the win_args.txt argument file the installer writes, and MystTiq launches them that way.
    • Your user_jvm_args.txt is still applied, and the memory you set in MystTiq wins.
    • Older Forge versions that ship a forge-….jar still work.
  • Add Existing Server recognizes Forge and NeoForge folders. It also reads the Minecraft version from the installed loader.
  • Mods:
    • Searching Modrinth on Forge and NeoForge servers shows mods for that loader.
    • Mod JARs are read from META-INF/mods.toml or neoforge.mods.toml, and each mod's name and version are shown.
    • MystTiq refuses a mod built for the wrong loader. NeoForge servers also accept Forge mods, because older ones still load them.
  • Modpacks: Forge and NeoForge .mrpack modpacks can now be imported, using the exact loader version the pack asks for.
  • Bedrock crossplay works on NeoForge (Geyser-NeoForge). Geyser has no Forge version, so the Crossplay tab says so on Forge servers.
  • The "Install Fabric API" hint is now shown only on Fabric servers.

How to Connect

The Dashboard has a new How to Connect card for the selected server, showing the address to type into Minecraft (Multiplayer → Add Server):

Where your friend is Address shown
This PC localhost:<port>
Same network (LAN) Your PC's local IPv4 address and the port, e.g. 192.168.1.20:25566. Worked out on your PC, with no internet lookup.
Internet Your public IP and the port, after you click Show public address.
  • Each address has a Copy button.
  • The Internet row reminds you which port to forward on your router and to which local address.
  • The public address comes from api.ipify.org, and only when you click the button, in line with the privacy policy. It's remembered until you close the app.

Also in this release (from 0.4.2, not published separately)

  • Collapsing the sidebar leaves a usable icon rail. Every page keeps its icon, and hovering shows the page name.
  • MIT licence added, and the app's file properties carry the copyright line.
  • Code signing is being set up through SignPath Foundation. See the code signing policy. This release is still unsigned.

Fixed

  • Buttons on the Dashboard could miss clicks. The Dashboard refreshes every second, and a click that landed during a refresh did nothing. Refreshes now wait while the mouse button is held down.

MystTiq branding

  • New banner across the top of the window: the beacon icon, MystTiq MineCraft Server Manager, and the version number.
  • The old "MystMC" name is gone from the app. The window title, status bar, dialog titles and messages all say MystTiq now.
  • The startup log is now MystTiq_startup.log (next to the .exe). An old MystMC_startup.log is left where it is and can be deleted.

Your servers, settings and backups are unaffected. They still live in %APPDATA%\ASimpleMinecraftServer.

MystTiq Minecraft Server Manager v0.4.0

This release includes 0.3.0, which wasn't published separately. Its notes are in RELEASE_NOTES_v0.3.0.md.

New in 0.3.0: Add-ons for plugins and mods

  • The Add-ons page manages plugins on Paper, Purpur and Folia servers and mods on Fabric servers.
  • Search Modrinth in the app. Only server-side add-ons for your server's loader and Minecraft version are shown.
  • One-click install of the newest compatible build, checked against Modrinth's SHA-512 hash.
  • One-click Fabric API on Fabric servers that don't have it yet.
  • Wrong-type protection: plugins can't go on Fabric, mods can't go on Paper, and client-only mods are refused.
  • Settings can now edit the server type and Minecraft version, so servers added from an existing folder work with Add-ons.

New in 0.4.0: A simpler sidebar

The sidebar goes from 22 pages to 10. Related tools are now tabs on one page, and each page remembers the tab you last used.

Page What's on it
Dashboard All your servers at a glance
Create Server Install a new server or add an existing one
Console Live output and commands
Players Who's online, with op, kick, and ban
Worlds Import, rename, archive, and delete worlds
Add-ons Tabs: Add-ons (plugins or mods), Plugin Packs, Datapacks, Resource Pack
Backups Tabs: Backups (manual and automatic), Scheduled Tasks
Health Tabs: Health, Performance, Logs, Startup, Optimization
Settings Tabs: Server (profile and server.properties), Presets (formerly Templates)
Help Getting started, troubleshooting, and version info (formerly About)

Tabs are only loaded when you open them, so the Health page no longer runs every analyzer at once.

Removed

  • Migration. Add an existing server from Create Server instead, or copy the folder yourself.
  • UI Preview. It was a design tool left over from development.
  • Underworld, Ender, and Aether themes. Minecraft Green (the default), Dark, and Light remain. If you were using a removed theme, the app starts in Minecraft Green.

Under the hood

  • Removed about 5,700 lines of unused code and markup: the old v1 main window, 13 page views and 7 view-model/navigation classes nothing used, and unused services for notifications, update checks, migration, and logging.
  • Removed unused images and theme files. The download is slightly smaller.

MystTiq Minecraft Server Manager v0.2.1

Fixes found in the post-0.2.0 review. These make multi-server setups work out of the box and make downloads safer.

Creating servers

  • Port field. Create Server now has a Port field, pre-filled with the next free port (starting at 25565), skipping ports used by other servers or other programs. Before, every new server got 25565, so a second server always hit the port-conflict error.
  • Minecraft EULA. You now have to tick "I have read and accept the Minecraft End User License Agreement" (with a link to it) before Install is enabled. Before, the app accepted the EULA for you.

Safer downloads

  • Server JARs are checked against the checksum each provider publishes: SHA-1 for Vanilla (Mojang), SHA-256 for Paper and Folia (PaperMC), and MD5 for Purpur (its API offers nothing stronger; the exact build is pinned so the checksum matches). A file that fails the check is deleted and the install stops. Fabric publishes no checksum for its server launcher, so it relies on HTTPS alone.
  • Modrinth plugins are checked against Modrinth's SHA-512 hash before they are installed.
  • Plugin Packs only install exact matches. Each plugin is looked up by its Modrinth project ID. Before, if the exact project wasn't found, the top search result was installed instead, which could be an unrelated plugin. Plugins that aren't on Modrinth, or have no build for your Minecraft version, are now skipped and listed after the install.
  • The app now identifies itself to Modrinth and PaperMC with its name and repository link, as their APIs ask.

Starting servers

  • Java is checked before a server starts. If Java can't be found, the app says so and how to fix it. If the Java version is older than the Minecraft version needs (Java 21 for 1.20.5+, Java 25 for 26.x), it asks before starting.

MystTiq Minecraft Server Manager v0.2.0

The first release from this repository. Version numbers restart at 0.2.0; this build follows the old MystMC v2.1.5.

Run several servers at once

  • Each server has its own Java process, console history, online-player list, and uptime.
  • Start a server, select another, and start that one too. The toolbar (Start, Stop, Restart, Kill, Backup) and the Console, Players, and Performance pages act on the selected server.
  • The Dashboard has a new All Servers card listing every server with its port, memory, and state, plus Start/Stop and Select buttons.
  • Running servers show a ● next to their name in the server picker, and the footer shows how many are running.

Port conflict check

  • A server won't start if its port is already used by another running server or by any other program on the machine. The error names the conflict and suggests changing server-port.

Safer exit and recovery

  • Closing the app lists every running server and stops them all at once. Any that don't stop within 20 seconds can be force killed.
  • Process recovery remembers every running server (runtime-sessions.json), not just one. The old single-server file is migrated automatically.

Scheduled tasks

  • Start, stop, restart, broadcast, command, and backup tasks target their own server directly, without changing the selected server.

New icons

  • The UI uses the MystCraft icon pack: 200 Minecraft-style icons (compass, beacon, command block, redstone torch and more) instead of the Windows glyph font.

Build and release

  • A GitHub Actions build runs on Windows for every push and fails on any compiler warning.
  • Tagged versions publish a self-contained Windows .exe to GitHub Releases automatically.

Known limitations

  • Crash auto-restart settings exist per server but are not wired up yet.
  • The .exe is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning on first run.
