claude-kit v0.4.0
What's new in v0.4.0
ck — CLI companion tool
A new ck binary ships alongside the desktop app, powered by the same library (~/.claude-assets/). Install it once, use it anywhere:
ck apply my-bundle # materialize a bundle into the current project
ck list # list all bundles in the library
ck installed # show what's active in the current project
ck clean # remove all claude-kit symlinks from the projectThe desktop app and ck share the exact same library, bundles, and origins — no sync needed.
Hooks management
Create, edit, and delete local hooks directly from the app. Each hook is an executable script tied to a Claude Code event. The app auto-registers it into the project's settings.json on apply and cleans it up on remove.
AI generation included — describe what you want ("block any rm -rf command") and the app writes the script for you.
MCP server management
Manually create and manage local MCP server configs from the Browse → Library view. Configs can be added to any bundle and deployed to a project in one click, merging safely with any existing mcp.json.
Asset refine chat
Iterate on any asset through a streaming back-and-forth conversation directly in the editor. The current file content is sent as context on every turn — no copy-pasting.
Bundle generation via chat
Describe a workflow in plain language and get a complete, coherent bundle back — skills, commands, agents all generated together and kept in sync across turns.
Bundle share codes
Export any bundle as a compact copy-paste code (gzip + base64). Send it to a colleague, paste it on another machine — the full bundle is recreated locally with no server involved.
Loading screen
App now shows a clean splash screen while the library loads on startup instead of flashing an empty state.
Settings: custom Claude CLI path
If claude isn't on your PATH, you can now point the app at the binary directly in Settings instead of fighting with shell config.
Bug fixes
- Fixed auto-update notifications: replaced the startup toast with a persistent topbar button so it doesn't vanish before you can act on it
- Fixed scroll in the bundle generation view when the asset list grows tall
- Fixed Windows: custom CLI path no longer appends a spurious
.exe - Fixed MCP-only plugins incorrectly showing as "not imported" in the library
- Fixed toast styles missing after a dependency update (vue-sonner stylesheet)
Notes
- Windows and macOS binaries are unsigned — SmartScreen / Gatekeeper will warn on first launch. See the install instructions for the one-time bypass.
- The bundle recommender (
/recommend) remains available at its route for direct testing but is not yet surfaced in the UI — the AI currently only sees plugin names, not asset content, leading to hallucinated names. A content-aware rebuild is planned.
claude-kit v0.3.2
Fixes
- Import from community plugins/marketplaces
claude-kit v0.3.1
What's new
✨ Harmonizedbadge — assets rewritten by the AI harmonizer now
carry a small badge in the library list and the asset editor header,
with a tooltip showing when they were last harmonized. Tracked
separately from import origins so it works on both marketplace and
hand-crafted assets.- View on GitHub link on every plugin's detail page. Resolves to
the right URL for any plugin source shape — including inline
plugins from third-party marketplaces, which now correctly point
to their subfolder on the marketplace's host repo.
Polish
- Harmonize diff is now word-level inside hunks. Previously a
single typo fix in a long line showed the entire paragraph as
removed + added — now only the words that actually changed are
highlighted (red for deletions, green for additions, the rest stays
neutral). Picking out what the model changed is no longer guesswork. - External links open in your default browser. Clicking any link
inside a plugin README or an asset preview used to navigate the
Tauri WebView away from the app, which had no back button — they
now open in the OS browser via the newtauri-plugin-openerwiring.
Fixes
- Apply-to-project errors surface the actual problem. The toast
used to say "3 errors" with no detail. It now shows the first
error verbatim, plus a count of overflow files. In particular,
Windows users without Developer Mode see clear instructions
instead ofos error 1314:Windows refused to create the symlink (permission denied).
Enable Developer Mode in Windows Settings → Privacy & Security
→ For developers, then retry. Alternatively, run claude-kit as
administrator.
Notes
- Existing harmonized assets won't show the badge until you re-run
the harmonizer on them — the timestamp wasn't tracked before this
release. - Auto-update from v0.3.0 → v0.3.1 should kick in automatically on
startup. If the toast doesn't show within a few seconds, it means
the signedlatest.jsonmanifest didn't get uploaded — check the
Actions logs of this release run.
claude-kit v0.3.0
What's new
- AI integration — Generate assets from a prompt or refine existing
ones. Harmonize a bundle to make all its assets read like one author
wrote them, with per-hunk diff review. Backend auto-detects the
Claude Code CLI; falls back to any OpenAI-compatible API endpoint. - Plugin updates with hunk-level review — when an imported plugin
gains a new version, review the upstream diff hunk-by-hunk before
overwriting your local copy. Local edits never get silently replaced. - Multiple marketplaces — paste any
marketplace.jsonURL in
Settings to add a new source. Plugins from all sources show up in
a unified browse grid with a per-plugin source badge. - Plugin-grouped library — Browse > Library is now a grid of
imported plugins. Each card drills down to its assets. A "Local"
bucket holds anything you created from scratch. - In-app auto-update — future releases will surface as a toast
with a one-click Update button. Verified via embedded signature
so you can trust what you install.
Fixes
- Windows: hidden console window in release builds; AI flows now
work via the npm-installedclaude.cmdshim (was rejected with
a misleading "filename too long" error) - WSL: window opens centered (no longer off-screen on multi-monitor)
Notes
- Binaries are unsigned — Windows SmartScreen will warn on first
install (More info → Run anyway); macOS Gatekeeper will require
a right-click → Open. We're tracking when to invest in signing
based on user feedback.
