Changelog

  • Added: Checks if the little cluster has the power to handle zstd naturally. Where the algorithm is switched to zstd instead of using lz4 because the processor is capable of handling it. Improving the ability to automatically decide the best algorithm for the user's device.
  • Added: Mechanism to display the recommended ZRAM algorithm based on your SOC's capabilities and currently available algorithms.
  • Added: Support for standard ARM platforms and 2GB and 1GB of RAM.
  • Improvements: Integrate most of tytydraco's compaction and VM optimizations; VM parameters are now optimized to retain apps for longer.
  • Improvement: The PinnerService has been modified; instead of following a Matt Yang/Custom Rom-Like pattern, it now follows the Google Pixel pattern, allowing for a more effective PinnerService.
  • Improvement: Swappiness has been perfectly aligned in MGLRU; now direct swappiness (foreground swap) and asynchronous swappiness can work in synergy, reducing micro-bursts and improving memory management stability, due to providing the ideal tools for MGLRU.
  • Improvement: Aligned zram sizes with traditional Android pageblocks, allowing for improved ZRAM efficiency for certain specific sizes.
  • Improvement: The entire code has been optimized to reduce errors and misinterpretations, thus eliminating some beginner bugs/mistakes.
  • Removed: kcompactd affinity and priority settings. Developers and even Google recommend NOT TO TOUCH this kthread.

Recommended third-party modules

Below are the modules that I recommend you use to get additional improvements:

  • A1Memory (for Android 8-14): Improvements to Android's default memory management, including cleaning up unnecessary processes and other things. Useful for users who want an additional improvement to the management that SkyScene offers.

For the sake of familiarity. I no longer recommend Cirno, after some testing and use, I realized that the freeze from the Android developer options is better in two aspects:

  • More cohesive with the system. It knows what to suspend.
  • Faster and less unstable.

This means that the use_freezer from the Android default system is more integrated with SkyScene, favoring greater multitasking than using Cirno.
