Kitchen Table v1.0.0: Alexa+ hackathon submission

One Alexa+ helper for the whole household. It remembers what each person needs, across days and across people, follows up, and confirms before acting.

Watch (about 2 minutes): https://youtu.be/vGV_YJFv-p8
Live board (no setup): https://kitchen-table-mcp.wolfejam2020.workers.dev/demo
Judges' testing steps: TESTING.md (a 1-minute, a 5-minute and a test-suite way to check it; no token or account needed)
Friction log: FRICTION_LOG.md

What it is

A remote MCP server on Cloudflare Workers (spec 2025-11-25, Streamable HTTP) with one Durable Object per household and six tools: add_need, whats_new_for_me, list_errands, propose_add_to_errand, confirm_proposal, mark_done. Results carry structuredContent plus a speakable text copy, and an MCP Apps board card (ui://kitchen-table/board).

  • Confirm before acting: the server refuses a confirm in the same turn as its question.
  • Deed of the week: awarded by the server from confirmed actions; it can't be claimed or voted for.
  • Quickstart rules: unauthenticated requests get 401 with no WWW-Authenticate header. Tool calls typically take about 25 to 30 ms against the 500 ms limit; an occasional call takes a few hundred ms.
  • 26 tests run against the live /mcp endpoint (the test runner needs Node 22.12 or newer).

Real, simulated, not built

  • Real: the server, the household state, the confirm guard, the board card, the tests.
  • Simulated: the voices (synthetic Grok Voice in the video, labelled on screen) and the speaker identity.
  • Not built: OAuth account linking, purchases, a live calendar. Not run through a real Alexa+ account or device. Kiro CLI was used late (a read-only review and two tests); Bedrock and AgentCore were not used (see the friction log). The addon.json icon and carousel image URLs are placeholders, since there is no store listing yet.
