TunnelTend 1.0.2
TunnelTend can keep following compatible official OpenAI client releases without waiting for a matching TunnelTend release. This patch strengthens that existing automatic route: the exact stable release selected for an update is also the one downloaded, and staged checks exercise the required command shapes and credential-free JSON behavior before replacing the installed client. Verified downloads, backup and rollback remain part of the update.
Updating an existing installation
Existing users need one TunnelTend package update to receive these adapter and updater changes. Once 1.0.2 or a later version is available through GitHub Releases, rerun the ordinary installer against the same installation and state locations. It preserves saved automation choices, scope defaults, credential references and the official-client location unless you explicitly change them. You do not need a TunnelTend package update for every later compatible OpenAI release.
Automatic maintenance keeps the installed bytes when the official client reports the same version. If upstream changes an asset under the same version, that change remains visible for maintainer judgment; it does not silently replace your current copy. Missing or stale website evidence does not disable local verified updates.
The public compatibility view distinguishes the latest observed official release from the last routine-qualified one. It identifies the tested TunnelTend package and separates verified distribution, credential-free CLI checks, owned-fleet behavior and a connected MCP call. A source-only result does not mean the published package contains that source.
This patch also preserves installer choices during repeat installation and improves recovery from failed installation. The manual now has its own Docs Home, with shared appearance preferences and repaired narrow search results.
Windows 11 and PowerShell 7.4 or newer remain required. The official OpenAI client is a separate verified download and is never bundled. Windows x64 acquisition, CLI checks and transactional update/rollback have been exercised with genuine v0.0.17 and v0.0.18 clients. ARM64 archive verification is separate from native ARM64 execution. These checks do not establish a new connected fleet or MCP-consumer session; earlier connected qualification remains bounded to its stated client version.

TunnelTend 1.0.1
Plain-text diagnostics now work when there is something to report. Previously, status, health and doctor could fail with a formatting error as soon as a service or diagnostic existed; JSON output was unaffected. The online installer also preserves the ordinary installer's named switches, so unattended setup and custom installation paths reach the same supported installer correctly.
The patch includes the approved Fold wordmark and lockup, with a public website and reader-first manual prepared for tunneltend.com. Website hosting is a separate publication: use the repository guide until that Home is admitted. The release ZIP remains usable independently of the website.
Windows 11 and PowerShell 7.4 or newer remain required. Registered services, session intent and routine recovery behavior are unchanged. The official OpenAI client remains a separate verified download and is never bundled. The original 1.0 qualification describes the observed sign-in, sleep/resume and remote MCP boundaries and their limits; this patch does not claim a new connected qualification.

TunnelTend 1.0.0 — Your MCP tunnels, quietly tended.
Register an MCP service once. TunnelTend keeps its local process and official OpenAI tunnel running, remembers deliberate stops, and gives you useful facts when something needs attention.
The first release brings that routine into one Windows CLI: startup at sign-in, watchdog recovery with visible limits, optional source-change restarts, and verified official-client updates with backup and rollback. You can operate one service or a small fleet without assembling Task Scheduler entries or editing internal JSON.
A quiet caretaker
- Register command-backed or HTTP MCP services, or explicitly adopt existing official-client aliases.
- Inspect desired state, live health and diagnosis without changing persisted state. Preview reconciliation or repairs before applying them.
- Stop a service for the current session without the watchdog immediately bringing it back. The next sign-in establishes a fresh session.
- Recover missing or unhealthy processes with ownership checks, persisted backoff and a bounded attempt budget.
- Update the separate official client only after release verification and staged compatibility checks; restore the fleet or roll back if replacement fails.
A real remote MCP echo returned “TunnelTend remote proof — Grüße 🐺” through ChatGPT during Windows qualification. Natural sign-in startup and sleep/resume recovery were also observed. Those connected observations used official client v0.0.16; v0.0.17 was separately acquired through the public updater, digest-verified and passed all six adapter capability probes. A connected v0.0.17 session has not been exercised.
The qualification does not establish a connected v0.0.17 session, live adoption of a pre-existing official alias, or a deliberately missed Scheduled Task trigger. The installed native task entry was observed without a console; a global no-focus observation was not captured. These are coverage limits, not claims of uninterrupted availability.
Start with your own service
Download the ZIP and SHA-256 file from the release, verify and extract it, then follow installation and service registration. PowerShell 7 on Windows 11 is required. Your OpenAI organization/workspace, tunnel and runtime credential remain separate prerequisites; credentials are supplied by reference, never as inline registry values.
TunnelTend is unofficial and does not implement OpenAI's tunnel protocol. The official binary is downloaded separately and is not included in this AGPL-3.0-only source distribution. Application builds, dependency updates and migrations remain under your explicit control.
The release uses the approved Fold identity and Moonpool palette. A product website follows separately; it is not needed to install or use the CLI.
