v1.1 – PFX password fix + Linux support

@X00LA X00LA released this 09 Sep 17:48

Fixed

  • PFX password mismatch: The INI parser truncated passwords containing # or ; (e.g. Sup3r#Secret became Sup3r), so the generated .pfx silently ended up with a different password than the one configured — breaking imports into Chrome and other tools. Quoted values are now parsed verbatim between the quotes; #/; are only treated as comment markers outside quotes.
  • Broken PEM export (CertGenerator1.0.ps1): when OutputFormat=pem was set, the script deleted the .pfx afterwards and used certutil -encode, which just base64-wraps the raw PFX binary instead of producing a real PEM certificate. The certificate is now extracted correctly via openssl pkcs12 -clcerts -nokeys, and the .pfx (with your configured password) is kept.

Added

  • cert_generator.sh – Linux/Bash port of the certificate generator (OpenSSL-based, no Windows dependencies).
  • example_linux.config.ini – example configuration for the Bash script.
  • .gitignore – prevents generated certificates, private keys, and real *.config.ini files from being committed.

Notes

If you generated a .pfx with an earlier version and it won't import, regenerate it with this version — the old file may have a truncated password.
