XTrace 0.2.0 adds an opt-in leaderboard and a new session warning.
- Leaderboard: pick a nickname and confirm with a code sent to your email to list your 7-day leverage on leaderboard.xtrace.ai. Nothing is sent until you join, other users never see your email, and Leave deletes your entry.
- Admitted mistake: a new session warning when an agent's reply admits a mistake right after your message. The repeated-calls warning is removed.
- Redesigned warning window: the conversation reads as a chat beside why it was flagged, and a diagnosis keeps running after you close the window.
- Codex Desktop forks now show their conversation.
- Effort: a day's summary moved into the box that opens on its date.
- After this update, XTrace reads older Claude conversations once more to find admitted mistakes.
- Links and updates now point to github.com/XTraceAI/xtrace.
Built for Apple silicon on macOS 14 or later from 65efa43ae1ae1621e32a4beaf5cd44eebebb9070. The app and disk image are signed and notarized. All four anonymous downloads match the reviewed sizes and SHA-256 hashes.
Signed release checks on GitHub-hosted macOS 14.8.9 arm64:
- Signed first launch: fresh Applications install from the public DMG, Welcome, Open Dashboard, usable 0.2.0 Dashboard, exact signed contents and synthetic database checks passed. Attempts 1 and 2 stopped on runner network errors (GitHub API rate limit, then a timed-out Apple ticket lookup); attempt 3 passed unchanged.
- Telemetry notice and settings: notice text in the accessibility tree, saved on/off choices and environment override passed. Notice visibility, successful telemetry delivery and timing before the first painted frame were not checked.
- Updater SDK: six cases passed—valid update, corrupt signature, wrong signed version, timeout, interrupted download and install permission Cancel. On attempt 1 the permission dialog was not captured on the runner; attempt 2 passed unchanged.
- Production-feed update: the unmodified signed 0.1.9 app, which checks the former
XTraceAI/xtrace-desktopaddress, found 0.2.0 through GitHub's rename redirect, restarted as a distinct process, quit normally and reopened. The same database and marker survived.
Hosted checks use synthetic data with telemetry off (except the telemetry check) and anonymous curl downloads; browser-download quarantine and updates of real conversation histories are not covered.
Diagnostic Cargo-registry build paths remain in the binary.
