🚀 HugAgentOS Desktop 1.0.2
This update brings the Community Edition changes since 1.0.1 to the desktop: more reliable long-running conversations, progressive plugin loading, local projects with cloud site publishing, and clearer control over where scheduled work runs.
🔖 Build note: all packages use the public product version
1.0.2and are built from the same derived CE source. The installation bundles include the local CE service and a platform-specific private Python runtime.
✨ Highlights
💬 Conversations that retain their working history
- Reasoning, assistant responses, tool calls, and tool results are recorded in model-step order. Compatible reasoning state is retained for replay; reasoning from another provider or protocol is presented as labeled historical context.
- Plan-tool results are saved independently of whether a display event is shown. Missing historical results are identified as unknown outcomes, and replay repairs call/result pairing without rerunning the tool.
- Durable run records, leases, and recovery checkpoints improve interrupted-task handling. Uncertain external side effects require attention instead of being blindly replayed.
- Mid-turn steering and queued follow-ups retain their order. Conversation references, stable message identity, running indicators, and persisted tool durations make ongoing work easier to follow.
- Improved context accounting and compaction reduce double-counting and preserve the ordering of retained conversation segments.
🧩 Plugins available when they are needed
- Progressive plugin loading exposes the plugin catalog first, then loads the selected skills and MCP tools as needed.
- Explicitly selecting a capability makes it available to the agent without forcing an additional invocation.
- Hybrid capability synchronization respects the signed-in account and refreshes when the available capabilities change. Cloud tool calls reuse connections.
- Skill publication replaces the authoritative skill tree consistently, including removing stale files. Windows skill paths and invalid-package handling are more robust.
🌐 Local projects and cloud sites
- In hybrid mode, create and edit site source in a local project, then publish the output to the cloud.
- Reopen the original local source and conversation from a site card, and publish another version using the same site ID and URL.
- Source associations are scoped to the current cloud account and computer. Missing or out-of-project directories are rejected.
- Site reads and view-count updates handle database contention without blocking the backend event loop.
- Windows project junction reuse and retargeting preserve ordinary directories and original files.
⏰ Scheduled work with an explicit location
- Choose local or cloud execution, together with the task's timezone and project context.
- Hybrid task lists and notifications show both locations while keeping their identities and updates separate.
- Durable operation receipts prevent duplicate cloud task writes when a response is lost.
- Local tasks require the computer and its desktop local service to be running; cloud tasks cannot directly read a local computer path.
🖥️ Desktop and workspace experience
- Refreshed initialization with a prominent product name and system title typography.
- Updated dark-mode backgrounds, motion, file previews, and conversation navigation.
- Refined macOS titlebar spacing and dragging regions, with room for native window controls.
- Improved startup readiness, account isolation, local workspace paths, and desktop channel-bot relay delivery.
🛠️ Reliability and Community Edition boundaries
- Updated native sandbox policy handling across Linux, macOS, and Windows.
- CE database reconciliation covers schema upgrades while preserving existing data.
- The release contains the generated Community Edition tree. Enterprise team permissions, administration, and internal deployment files are excluded.

The .sig files, macOS .app.tar.gz archives, and latest.json are updater artifacts and are not needed for a normal first-time installation. Linux automatic updates use the AppImage package; users of the .deb package should install future versions manually.
🚀 Upgrading from 1.0.1
Download the installer for your operating system and install it over the existing version. The desktop update flow preserves local user data. If your configured update service offers this version, you can also use the built-in update checker.
A fresh installation can choose Local, Cloud, or Dual mode during first-run setup. The full packages include the local service runtime; model access and online tools still require their respective configuration and network access.
🍎 macOS installation note
The macOS packages in this release are ad-hoc signed but not Apple-notarized. On first launch, macOS may block the application because it cannot verify the developer. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, find the HugAgentOS notice, and choose Open Anyway. Download packages only from this official repository.
