ZelixOS Aurora 1.0.0 Released

After extensive testing and refinement, ZelixOS Aurora 1.0.0 is now available. Based on Arch Linux, this release focuses on a consistent, minimal desktop experience, updated Zelix tools, and a lightweight system that leaves software choices to you.

Highlights

Desktop and appearance

  • Monochrome KDE Plasma: Dark styling and bright accents have been refined for more consistent contrast across panels and widgets.
  • Streamlined desktop: Default launchers have been reviewed to create a more focused workspace.
  • Zelix Extras: 90 wallpapers are available to choose from in desktop settings.
  • Updated themes: ZelixOS styling carries through the GRUB boot menu, Plymouth startup screen, and SDDM login screen.

ZelixOS tools

  • Zelix Installer 1.1.6: English is now the default language; Turkish remains available. Password confirmation, username validation, button contrast, and post-install tasks have been improved.
  • Zelix Updater 1.0.4: A lightweight graphical tool for managing system updates and synchronizing pacman repositories.
  • Zelix CLI: Adds English localization and the zelix lang [en|tr] language-switching command.
  • Fastfetch: A minimal system information summary is preconfigured for the terminal.

A clean start, your choice

ZelixOS avoids bundling unnecessary default applications. Use Zelix Hello to choose and install the applications and tools you need, and shape the system around your workflow.

  • Boot mode: UEFI recommended; Secure Boot should be disabled.
  • Internet: Required during installation to download and verify packages.
