ZenNotes for Android 1.1.41: faster diagrams in your theme, and D2
Version 1.1.41, versionCode 44, October 18, 2026, following 1.1.40 (43). PR #120 carries 3b85123; the signed bundle zennotes-1.1.41-vc44.aab (37,964,221 bytes, SHA-256 90b62d2c31104d31abf0ae74e1f7f909ac795544bcfbc47ed445609f90dd1b57) was built from tag v1.1.41 (d1c0d16), whose tree 2c125ae equals that of 3b85123.
What changes on the phone
- Mermaid diagrams draw faster and in your theme. Mermaid fences now draw with a new renderer, in your theme's colours. Your notes stay as they are.
- D2 diagrams. A
d2code block draws a D2 architecture diagram: boxes inside boxes, labelled connections and data models. The compiler is WebAssembly that loads only for a note with a d2 fence. - The Done column keeps finished notes. On the Kanban board grouped by a custom status, finished task notes stay in their Done column (ZenNotes/zennotes#949).
- Leaving the reading view lands on the list item you were reading, not at the start of a long list (ZenNotes/zennotes#953), and nested lists line up with their guides in a proportional font (ZenNotes/zennotes#952).
- A fuller demo tour. The tour has 22 notes, with notes on task boards, templates, drawings, databases and workflows, a sample drawing and a sample database. Removing the tour now removes the sample database's own folder too, so no empty folder is left behind.
Under the hood
Core core-2.71.0-core.he08cc8dc11a66da8 was built by CI from ZenNotes/zennotes 603fc6dc (the v2.71.0 release commit, run 39180786464); core:adopt checked SHA-256, SHA-512, packed versions and clean-source provenance. The rest of ZenNotes 2.71.0 needs a desktop (Keep running in the tray); no new bridge method, palette command or long-press entry. Chromium starts the D2 compiler in its worker, so this release does not need core 2.71.1, which lets D2 draw in WebKit.
Source: branch release/1.1.41 from main fe17e2c, two commits: b902db8 (core 2.71.0, the tour's nested-folder removal, and Dependabot's production group from #116: Capacitor 8.5.3, @codemirror/language 6.13.1, @codemirror/view 6.43.14, jsxgraph 1.14.0) and 3b85123 (1.1.41, versionCode 44).
Validation
- Typecheck and 288 JavaScript tests passed;
npm run upstream(boundaries and typecheck),npm run buildandnpm run syncpassed;bundleReleasewas signed with the upload key on JDK 21, and the bundle readsmd.zennotes44 / 1.1.41, min 24, target 36, with the same three permissions as 1.1.40. CI on #120 passed, including the emulator launch job. - On a throwaway emulator, the tour's D2 and Mermaid notes drew the diagrams checked (3 of 3 and 4 of 4, no diagram error), and generating then removing the tour on the real filesystem left no
inbox/demofolder.
Play Console submission

How to test locally
npm ci && npm run build && npx cap sync android, then openandroid/in Android Studio and run on a device or emulator.- In a note, type a d2 fence such as
phone -> notes: writesbetween```d2and```, then move the cursor off it. Before: the block stayed as code. After: a diagram with two boxes and a labelled arrow. - Type a mermaid fence (
flowchart LRthenA --> B). It draws in your theme's colours. - Command palette, Generate Demo Tour Notes, then Remove Demo Tour Notes: before, an empty
Reading List.basefolder stayed ininbox/demo; after, the tour's folder is gone.
