v2.79.0
Self-hosted ZenNotes server 2.79.0 with the pinned browser artifact web-2.79.0-web.h3e205408b9525e19 (built from ZenNotes/zennotes 47d26827, the v2.79.0 release commit).
What changed for self-hosters:
- A vault keeps its shares location. The desktop's Share to ZenNotes (macOS) lets each vault choose where shares land: Quick Notes, the primary location, or a folder such as
Clippings. The server now keepssharesLocationinvault.jsoninstead of dropping it on every settings save, normalized exactly as the desktop does, and advertisessupportsSharesLocation, so a desktop connected to this server offers the setting and files shares where you chose. - Duplicating a folder keeps the vault's settings. Duplicating a folder rebuilt the vault settings from a short list and reset the display name, the Inbox remap, the location fields and the task settings. It now carries every setting over.
- The Timeline panel: every open task with a date on one line, overdue tasks and
#milestonetasks marked (Mod+7,Space nin Vim mode,:timeline). - Every command can take a key: Settings, Keymap, Commands,
Alt+Enterin the command palette, and[keymaps.commands]in config.toml. - Unsplash covers with your own key: in the web app the key stays in your browser and searches go straight to Unsplash; neither this server nor zennotes.org sees it.
- A folder as a Gallery and database views that keep their own columns (Columns, more views, picked rows), in the web app as on desktop.
- Right-click to make or change a callout (#1016): Turn into callout…, Change callout type… and Remove callout, plus Set Callout Type… in the palette.
- Code blocks pick their language, and guess one they lack (#1014): the label opens a language picker, and the reading view guesses with the same rules (Settings, Editor, Detect code block languages).
- Typing in a new sub-task lands after its checkbox (#1012): after Vim
oand Tab (or Enter and Tab), text went in before the new- [ ]. - Keyboard with Vim mode off in the sidebar and every side panel, a status bar switch, select-all that leaves a note's title alone, a blank Quick Note prefix that gives a bare timestamp, and the Tasks filter matching a tag in a task note's body.
The CRLF code-fence test (64fe7e2) pins that this server's copy of the code stripper already hides tags and links inside a fenced block in a note saved with Windows line endings; no behavior changed there. No Go dependency moved, so vendorHash stays.
Verification before publication: the release workflow (run 40945055747) built the five binaries from 0c094f6 after go, docker and nix checks passed on #51; every binary matches SHA256SUMS, and the manifest.json asset is byte-identical to the pinned web-artifact/manifest.json (web-2.79.0-web.h3e205408b9525e19).
Docker: adibhanna/zennotes:2.79.0, 2.79 and latest are published from this tag by the repository's Docker publisher (linux/amd64 and linux/arm64, one digest).
