Hi there,
'user friendly' in the case depends how you want people to use the library. I guess it's to learn how the sort algorithms work. Then just coding the function in the same manner as other functions probably will be good enough.
In general I would recommend to add unit tests, prepare bunch of examples and test the scrips using the same tests.
