Changed

  • Pin a3s-code-core to =9.1.1 at git rev
    e2c42e92bf871ac501cf83416fd335a61f8c6416 (Code tag v9.1.1).
a3s code exec links this revision. Interactive a3s code launches
the pager built from the same revision.
  • Pin Linux a3s-box-netproxy to =3.2.7 so it builds with a3s-box-core 3.2.0.
  • macOS and Linux release checks accept an a3s binary that does not link
libzvec_c_api. Lexical FTS comes from a3s-vec. The archive still
carries the library for the Homebrew formula.
  • Drop the local Sandbox, Apofasi, a3s-vec, and a3s-effect path patches.
    a3s-vec 0.1.8 comes from crates.io. a3s-effect 0.1.1 is pinned to
Effect git rev 08a11f782190cf8f83e034064dd018a3f99ec9e1 because that
    release is not on crates.io.

Removed

  • a3s top and the hidden a3s code aliases login, logout, auth,
config, dirs, models, model, top, and update. Use a3s auth,
a3s config, a3s model, and a3s self update. Inspect processes with the
host shell and containers with a3s box.
  • The in-process Code TUI and A3S_CODE_TUI_SMOKE. Interactive a3s code
only launches the external pager (a3s-code-tui with a3s-code-acp).
  • a3s code research (aliases deepresearch and deep-research).
  • a3s code kb, a3s code context (ctx), and a3s code memory (mem).
a3s code exec still writes Core memory. Browse the pager or the memory
    directory.
  • a3s plugin, the management MCP, and a3s code exec --capability-runtime scoped-v1. Extensions run through a3s use.
  • Reviewed cognitive-package placement from a3s install, a3s upgrade,
    and a3s list --updates, including --registry-name. A
use/<publisher>/<name> id is not a registered component. Catalog installs
    stay, including use, use/browser, use/office, and use/ocr.
a3s registry still manages Registry sources.
  • Semantic workspace retrieval from a3s code exec and a3s config show.
An ACL workspace_retrieval block is ignored.
  • a3s code harness and a3s code remote. Interactive a3s code stays on
the external pager. Cloud execution review is no longer a CLI command.
The editor extension keeps Ask and Edit with editor context.
  • a3s code schedule and the hidden a3s code exec --tool-policy scheduled-report. Loop authoring left with the in-process TUI. Recurring
work uses the host scheduler and a3s code exec.
  • Borrowed Claude Code, Codex, Kimi, and WorkBuddy logins from a3s code exec,
a3s model, and a3s auth list. Model routes are ACL provider/model or a
    signed-in a3s-os/<model>. a3s auth remains OS-only. Interactive a3s code
still passes --model to the pager and does not borrow those CLIs.
  • The optional local-cpu-embedding feature (FastEmbed/ONNX and a3s-power).
It only served semantic workspace retrieval, which is already gone. CI and
release builds are model-free on every target. An ACL local_cpu or
    workspace_retrieval block remains ignored.
  • The CLI release-state check no longer requires crates.io a3s-tui.
Interactive a3s code uses the external pager (a3s-code-tui), and the CLI
package does not depend on a3s-tui. Publishing the separate TUI repository
    stays on its own workflow.
  • Direct dependencies with no CLI caller: tokio-stream (Codex SSE), comrak
(in-process TUI markdown), and similar. Code may still link tokio-stream
    and similar through a3s-code-core.
  • The CLI release preflight no longer requires crates.io a3s-gateway 1.1.1.
The CLI package does not link Gateway. a3s-lane, a3s-flow, a3s-runtime,
    and a3s-use remain release prerequisites.
  • The first-launch config.acl template no longer documents codex login or
    in-process /login and /logout. OS sign-in is a3s auth login os, and
signed-in models are a3s-os/<model>. A failed OS browser callback says the
    same.
  • The test-only ACL text scanner (find_config, skill_dir, and
top_level_str). Nothing in the running CLI called it. a3s code exec
still takes skill roots from A3S_SKILL_DIR or ~/.a3s/skills. a3s config
    still reads an ACL skill_dir.
  • Design notes for removed CLI surfaces: DeepResearch, the in-process TUI,
the knowledge base, plugin authorization, semantic workspace retrieval,
local CPU embedding, the cognitive-package preview, and the Use component
platform essay. Historical release notes stay.

Fixed

  • a3s code resume forwards the session to the Code pager. A session id is
passed as --resume; omitting the id passes --continue.
