@aaitor aaitor released this 29 Oct 11:52

First public release of GitHub Projects Skill (aaitor/skill-github-projects).

Included

  • GitHub Projects v2 workflows through gh: discover board fields dynamically, review backlogs, select by priority/label, and coordinate progress updates and handoffs.
  • Human review conventions: agents submit work as Ready; humans control In Definition and Done.
  • Installation and board-setup guides, a practical walkthrough, CLI references, and GraphQL recipes.
  • A real Claude Code demo reviewing a clearly labeled fictional backlog; it proposes work without changing GitHub.
  • Shared banner/social artwork, community files, MIT license, and offline documentation/packaging checks.
  • Repository renamed to skill-github-projects; /github-project-board remains compatible.

Install v1.0 in Claude Code

From your project directory:

git clone --branch v1.0 --depth 1 https://github.com/aaitor/skill-github-projects.git .claude/skills/github-project-board

Invoke /github-project-board in Claude Code. See installation and examples for configuration and usage.

Validation and limitations

CI validates documentation links/headings, SVG/JSON/YAML, Python syntax, and skill packaging on Python 3.10 and 3.12. This release does not add a live board integration test.

The skill is workflow instructions, not a background worker or atomic claim service. Label scoping is not an exclusive lock; coordinate overlapping agents. Paginate large boards beyond the bounded examples. Live access requires your own authorized gh session and project/repository permissions.
