I'm sure this wasn't intentional on your part, but Perl::Core is a very misleading name. The code that ships in the Perl tarball is usually referred to as the "Perl core", and the modules that are included in said tarball are "core" modules.

There are number of modules similar to yours on CPAN, but no particular naming scheme can be drawn from them. We have Modern::Perl, perl5i, strictures, as well as modules for building your own set of default modules such as Toolkit and ToolSet.

@autarch What are the steps involved in renaming a package on CPAN? How about the name Perl::Crux?

@aanari - all you have to do is upload a new distro with a different name. Then you can go to https://pause.perl.org/pause/query, log in with your PAUSE id/password and delete the old distro's files.

I think Perl::Crux is better, though I'm not so sure starting a distro name with Perl:: is good form if it's not something that does something with Perl source (like Perl::Critic, Perl::Tidy, etc.).

just 'Crux' is free and brand-ish names as first part have got pretty common at this point.

@shadowcat-mst - that's a good point. Naming these as Crux::Test, Crux::Core, and so on might be a good way to go.
