Auto Digger 0.1.8
Listen to YouTube and Soulseek sources before saving them to Downloads.
Changes
- Preview audio in the bottom player, keep it temporary for the session, and save the prepared audio without downloading it again.
- Search Soulseek by release title or individual track, with editable queries, compact results and filename-based Discogs track suggestions.
- Use Discogs styles in MP3 genre tags for both providers.
- Show Waiting for peer when Soulseek queues a transfer, while keeping other download sources usable.
- Keep preview cancellation available when switching sources, closing search results or changing pages.
- Correct saved YouTube track assignments without duplicate audio files or another download.
- Keep the source buttons compact and aligned to the right of the release view.
Downloads and setup
Choose the installer for Windows x64, macOS Apple silicon, macOS Intel or Linux x64. Check downloaded files against SHA256SUMS.
Windows builds are unsigned. macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and are not notarized. Audio extraction uses separately installed yt-dlp, FFmpeg, FFprobe and Node.js. Soulseek connects through your slskd instance; MCP uses the included runtime.
Verification
The release candidate passed 221 tests, 48 desktop checks and both packaged-AppImage tests for installation/MCP and update/restart with preserved data. Manual Linux checks covered audio preview/save, saved assignment corrections, navigation cancellation, real Discogs access and an MCP release lookup. CI checks Windows and both Mac installer payloads; interactive verification was on Linux.
Auto Digger 0.1.7
Choose audio from YouTube or Soulseek in one place, and keep saved downloads organised by source.
- Filter the Downloads page by All sources, YouTube or Soulseek. Source labels appear on saved audio and queued downloads, and the filter works alongside search.
- Choose YouTube or Soulseek from the release's Audio sources section. Refine Soulseek searches and browse matches in a compact table.
- Organise new downloads with
<source>/<genre>/<subgenre>/<year>. Subgenre comes from the first Discogs style. Saved folder settings and existing file locations are preserved, and all folder placeholders remain visible in Settings.
The Soulseek setup guide covers Docker and native slskd installations on Windows, macOS and Linux. The installation guide explains how to install Auto Digger and its audio tools.
Windows, macOS and Linux preview installers are attached below. Windows builds are unsigned; macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. YouTube audio extraction requires yt-dlp, FFmpeg, FFprobe and Node.js. MCP uses the included runtime. Soulseek downloads use your separate slskd instance and its completed-downloads folder.
Verify installer downloads against SHA256SUMS. The update manifests and Windows blockmap belong to this same build.
Auto Digger 0.1.6
Find and save audio from Soulseek through your own slskd instance, alongside the existing YouTube downloads.
- Search beside a track on the digging desk, refine the query and browse a compact table of public matches. Private results are counted separately.
- Copy completed audio into Auto Digger, keep its original format and source information, and play saved tracks after restarting.
- Organise future downloads with source, genre, year, label, artist and release placeholders. All placeholder hints stay visible, and the preview follows the saved folder naming rules.
- Recover unreadable slskd settings and keep another track's search open when a download finishes.
Soulseek support is optional. Run slskd separately and give Auto Digger access to its completed-downloads folder. The setup guide includes screenshots. Existing audio stays at its saved location when you change the folder layout.

- Named digging filters and the last valid selection saved locally.
- Single years or inclusive year ranges.
- Carbon material and five vivid accent colours.
- Appearance controls kept in Settings.
Windows and Linux users can update from the app footer. macOS users get the matching installer link.

Verify downloaded installers against SHA256SUMS. The release includes native update metadata for Windows and Linux.
Verified on Linux: the released 0.1.4 installer upgraded to 0.1.5 and reopened with its crate intact. Live Discogs search, audio download, tags, artwork, playback and packaged MCP passed.
Auto Digger 0.1.4
Fixes Linux startup after an AppImage update. The replacement now starts directly after service cleanup, keeps the original launch arguments and refreshes the application-menu shortcut.
Upgrading from Linux 0.1.2 or 0.1.3: quit the old app and open AutoDigger-0.1.4-linux-x64.AppImage once from the folder where you keep Auto Digger. The earlier restart bug may prevent it from reopening automatically after an update. This starts the fixed version and repairs the menu shortcut. Your crates, settings and music stay in place.
Confirm the installed version in Settings → About.
The regression check now updates a real AppImage, opens its replacement and verifies the saved crate, profile, version and menu shortcut. Failed-install recovery and retry checks also pass.
Windows builds are unsigned. macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. SHA256SUMS covers the installers and update metadata.
Auto Digger 0.1.3
About is now at the bottom of Settings. It shows the app version, author and licence.
To try the update from 0.1.2, use the footer to download 0.1.3 and choose Restart to update. Then open Settings → About and check for Version 0.1.3. On macOS, the footer opens the matching installer.
Windows builds are unsigned; macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. SHA256SUMS covers the installers and update metadata.
Auto Digger 0.1.2
Auto Digger 0.1.2 adds simpler MCP setup and desktop updates.
- Auto Digger MCP: save an extension from Settings and install it in Claude Desktop. Codex and other local clients can use the runtime included with Auto Digger. Keep the app open with MCP enabled.
- Linux: launching the AppImage adds Auto Digger to your application menu.
- Updates: the footer offers new releases, download progress and retry. Windows and Linux can install the update and restart. macOS opens the matching installer.
If you use 0.1.1, install this release manually once to get the updater. Your crates, settings and music stay in place.
Windows builds are unsigned. macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized; the setup guide includes the macOS installation command. Audio downloads require yt-dlp, FFmpeg, FFprobe and Node.js on PATH. MCP does not require a separate Node.js installation.
Installers are available below for Windows x64, macOS Apple silicon, macOS Intel and Linux x64. SHA256SUMS covers the installers and update metadata.
Auto Digger 0.1.1
Auto Digger is a desktop app for Discogs discovery and MCP mix research.
In this release
- Research mixes with an MCP client, find Discogs releases and save track picks, tags and source notes to named crates.
- Browse or draw random releases using label, artist, year, title, genre, style and release-type filters.
- Preview available YouTube sources before saving audio. Download tracks or whole releases with progress and best-effort Discogs tags and artwork.
- Keep a searchable local library, remembered Discogs credentials and SQLite crates that reopen after restart.
- Choose light, dark or system appearance, six materials and seven accents.
Install
Choose the Windows x64 installer, the macOS disk image for Apple silicon or Intel, or the Linux x64 AppImage. SHA256SUMS lists the SHA-256 digest of each installer.
Windows builds are unsigned. macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. These are preview installers.
Audio previews and downloads require current yt-dlp, FFmpeg, FFprobe and Node.js on PATH. These tools are not bundled. Connect a Discogs personal token in the app for discovery.
For mix research, enable Settings → AI mix research and copy the configuration to your MCP client. The app must stay open, and the client needs Node.js 22 or newer.
Validation
162 tests, 37 native Electron checks, extracted AppImage startup and MCP integration pass. Installer CI checks Windows installation, both macOS disk-image payloads and architectures, and the Linux AppImage. Interactive Windows/macOS playback and research through a real AI host remain manual checks.
