v0.0.6 — 2026-10-26

Quill can now check for and install new releases from within the app.

Added

  • Add an in-app update check that compares the running version against the latest GitHub release and flags when a newer one is available.
  • Show an "Update Available" button in the title bar on Windows, macOS, and Linux; clicking it installs the release and relaunches the app.
  • Add self-upgrade support that picks the correct platform asset (ZIP on Windows, gzipped tarball on macOS and Linux) and replaces the whole app bundle or AppImage rather than only the inner binary.

Fixed

  • Keep the process alive while an update installs and relaunch the new version afterwards, instead of leaving the app closed when the install fails.

Internal

  • Add the self_update and semver dependencies.
  • Flatten the updates service module into a single src/services/updates.rs file.
