Lumen Gallery 1.0.1

  • Animals in art can be hidden. A new setting, on by default like People in art: works whose title or description mentions an animal, bird, fish, insect or other creature are left out. It is text-based, so one can slip through; see Hide below.
  • Quick actions. Press Down for Previous, Like / Unlike, Hide and Next. Hide removes that picture for good (Show hidden pictures again in the settings brings them back).
  • Change the picture from the sides. Left and Right still work; with the Magic Remote, arrows appear at the left and right edges.

Install: download com.ammar027.lumen.gallery_1.0.1_all.ipk below, then use Dev Manager Desktop (add your TV, open Apps, drop the file in) or ares-install --device lgtv com.ammar027.lumen.gallery_1.0.1_all.ipk.

As the TV screensaver it needs the Homebrew Channel and the watcher script from Lumen. Tested on an LG 65UQ8040PSB (webOS 22).

Lumen Gallery 1.0.0: an art-mode screensaver for LG webOS TVs, in the spirit of Samsung's The Frame.

Install: download com.ammar027.lumen.gallery_1.0.0_all.ipk below, then use Dev Manager Desktop (add your TV, open Apps, drop the file in) or ares-install --device lgtv com.ammar027.lumen.gallery_1.0.0_all.ipk. Open it from the app list (or from Lumen's Control Center, Art mode).

What it does: about 7,000 public-domain works (Cleveland Museum of Art, Wikimedia Commons) shown full screen in a real-wood frame with mattes, a slideshow, favourites, a "real painting" look, warmer tone at night and an optional clock. Islamic art (calligraphy, tiles, carpets, domes, geometric ornament) is a collection of its own, and works with people can be hidden (the default; a best-effort filter). Pictures load from the internet when shown, so the TV needs a connection.

As the TV screensaver: needs the Homebrew Channel and the watcher script from Lumen; the app has a switch for it in its settings.

Tested on an LG 65UQ8040PSB (webOS 22); other models are untested. Early release: expect rough edges.
