- The Settings screen is tidier and shorter. The font, text size and ligatures are together under Appearance, the encryption note sits inside Security, and Updates and Help are under About. The Keyboard bar setting only shows on phones and tablets, where the bar appears, and the leftover Engine test section is gone (the engine version is still on the About page).
- On a computer, the terminal's right-click menu opens where you clicked. Before, on a wide window it opened off to the right and below the pointer.
- On the host form, Remember the password on this device is now Save the password, with a line saying where it goes: kept on this device (encrypted where the system has secure storage), and synced once a vault is set up, unless the host is kept on this device only.
- While you have no sync vault, a card below the hosts list suggests setting one up so your hosts are backed up. Not now hides it on that device.
Installing. Linux: the .deb installs with your package manager, or unpack the tarball and run ./promptly. Windows: run the -setup.exe installer (later updates then install from inside the app, under Settings, About), or unzip the zip and run promptly.exe; the first run shows SmartScreen's "Windows protected your PC" because the build is not signed with a bought certificate, and More info, then Run anyway, gets past it. The zip carries the Microsoft C++ runtime it needs; if Windows still reports a missing .dll, install the Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) once. macOS: open the .dmg and drag Promptly to Applications; the first launch is blocked because the build is not signed with an Apple Developer ID, so open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway next to the line about Promptly and confirm with your password (once). SHA256SUMS lets you check a download.
