Float Windows

Shortcut

Krohnkite: Toggle Float: Meta+F

these windows will be floating immediately after they are created

• all not normal windows (utility, modal, popup etc)
• Krohkite Settings->Rules->Float Windows see Wiki:Logging
  • By Class: comma-separated list of window classes(resourceClass)
  • By Title: comma-separated list of keywords(or substrings) of window titles(caption)

Krohnkite version >= 0.9.9.2 or git version. There are situations when Kwin window property window.caption doesn't match with window title, but windowClass(resourceClass) is the same for many windows that you do not want to make floating. Well, you have another way.

• Create Window Rule
• Fill in the field Description
• Push Detect Window Properties and click on window you want to make float
• on popup window click + to add Whole window class and Window title
• change unimportant to exact match beside added Window title and push Apply
  • Important Note: Make sure your rule works Add property->Minimized->Yes->Apply. The window have should minimized. Delete this property.
• you need only one property Add property->Skip pager->Force->Yes->Apply
• Krohnkite Settings->Options->Make the window float if its property: skipPager=true (HACK)->CHECK->Apply->Reboot
