🍃 Input Leaf v1.4.0

Deskflow compatibility release covering handshake, TLS modes, optional client certificates, and a smoother connected session.

Highlights & Improvements

Deskflow Handshake

  • Barrier & Synergy Hello: Speaks both Barrier and Synergy hello, and caps the protocol at 1.6 so current Deskflow servers connect instead of hanging or rejecting the client.

TLS Transport Modes

  • Auto, TLS Only, Plain Only: Settings now has Auto, TLS only, and Plain only.
  • Auto Probe: Auto probes the server first, so a TLS Deskflow no longer falls through to a 15s plaintext stall.
  • Client Certificate Wait: If Deskflow requires a client certificate, Auto keeps the TLS handshake open long enough for the trust-this-phone dialog.

Client Certificates

  • Auto-Generated Identity: Auto-generates a Deskflow-style identity on first connect and shows this phone's fingerprint in Settings.
  • Import, Regenerate, or Clear: Optional PKCS12/PFX import, regenerate, or clear. Plain-only connections stay certificate-free.
  • Trust Prompt Error: Dedicated error when Deskflow is waiting for you to trust the phone, with no silent fallback to plaintext.

Keyboard Languages

  • Non-Latin Layouts: Non-Latin layouts send the right keys (including shortcuts like Ctrl/Alt/Win). Gujarati Inscript still needs IBus on the PC for letter keys.

Stability & Input Fixes

  • Android 14+ Shizuku: Injection stays alive via InputManager instead of dying after the first events.
  • Connected-Session Lag: Moving the mouse no longer stalls the whole phone. Cursor overlay updates are coalesced, mouse-move logging is gone, and LAN scan is cheaper and cancels on connect.

Contributors

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release!

  • @guaje: added the Apache-2.0 license (#7), built the fast JVM test foundation and CI pipeline (#14), and expanded protocol and UHID test coverage (#15).

Installation

  1. Download the APK matching your device architecture (or universal.apk).
  2. Install the APK on your Android device.
  3. If using Shizuku (Recommended), ensure Shizuku is running before connecting.
