Hi,

Could we have an example usage of displaying images. I have looked into the tests and there is one images.c but still can't see it when building the tests and basically I can't understand how uiImage and uiImageAppend work (append to what?).

I think uiImage is only used for tables at the moment, although I'd guess it'll be more broadly
usable at some point in the future. So currently there doesn't seem any way to manually display them.

uiImage is a drawable thing with a notional width and height (the size passed into uiNewImage). You use uiImageAppend to add actual pixel data to it. You can have multiple variants at different sizes, and presumably the drawing code will pick the 'best' one for whatever the actual screen resolution is.

An example: taking into account all the fudge-factor-scaling that some display systems use when dealing with high-DPI screens (ie reporting the screen as lower-res than it actually is, and scaling up all drawing operations, to prevent unaware apps appearing extremely tiny).

This leads to an oddity right now. In ruby-libui I can see images in a table. I haven't worked
out how to display just a single image. This is a bit a head scratcher to me how multiple
images shown in a table work easier than solo images. Never saw that before anywhere. :)
(May be a user error since I don't know libui well enough nor the C/Fiddle-Pointer situation
to understand what is going on behind the scene. But coming from a different point of view, I
agree with the thread-starter - would be super-convenient if solo images could be easily
put into e. g. a normal hbox or vbox as such. I know this already works because images in
a table are shown ... so I guess a workaround is for me to use that table-layout but it feels
so strange...)
