• A data-source notice, once for each provider. Before Chartwizard downloads from EODHD or Yahoo Finance, it shows
  a short notice and asks you to agree:

  • the data comes from that provider straight to your PC, under your own agreement with the provider;
  • Chartwizard does not sell data and is not affiliated with Yahoo or EODHD;
  • a Pro licence pays for Chartwizard's analysis features, not for data.

  After updating you see it once, for the provider you use. Until you agree, no sync runs and a banner says why.
  Settings → Data provider → Read the data notice opens it again.

• Yahoo Finance is labelled experimental. The provider list now reads Yahoo Finance (experimental, free, may
  break): it is an unofficial source that can change or stop working at any time, without notice.

• Settings → Licence says what the Pro price is for: the analysis features, not market data.

Beta

This release keeps the beta label of the 0.4 series. Nothing about your data changes: agreeing to the notice only lets
syncs run as before. If something looks or behaves oddly, please
open an issue.

• AI agents (MCP), Pro. Claude Desktop and Claude Code can now read what Chartwizard knows through the Model Context
  Protocol: a chart as a picture and as numbers, its patterns, the Scanner, the Screener and the Sectors view. Turn on
  Settings → AI agents (MCP) → Allow AI agents to read Chartwizard data; the section then shows the exact config to
  copy:

  • Claude Desktop: paste the JSON into claude_desktop_config.json, then restart Claude Desktop.
  • Claude Code: run the claude mcp add chartwizard … command once in a terminal.

  Nothing else needs installing: the connector is Chartwizard itself. Ask things like "show me BBCA's chart with RSI",
  "which stocks have a fresh double bottom?" or "run my Golden Cross screen".

• Ten tools for the agent: the status of your data, the ticker list, your watchlist, the indicator catalogue, a
  chart's bars as numbers with its indicators and patterns, a chart image as the app draws it, the Scanner's patterns,
  your saved screens and presets, running a screen, and sector rotation against IHSG.

Beta

This release is labelled beta because the AI agent connection is new. Access is read-only: an agent cannot sync,
change your watchlist or change any setting, and it works only while Chartwizard is open. Turning the switch off closes
the connection at once. Keep in mind that what an agent reads is sent to that agent's AI provider. If something looks
or behaves oddly, please open an issue.

• Technical rules in the Screener. A screen's rules are now built from two kinds of row:

  • Basic rule: a metric against a number, e.g. RSI 14 > 30 or Change 1D ≥ 3%.
  • Ratio vs Ratio: a metric against a multiple of another, e.g. Price > 1 × SMA 20 or Volume ≥ 2 × Volume MA20.

  Each rule can be >, ≥, <, ≤, crossed above or crossed below. A crossover counts when it
  happened within the last N days (1 to 10) and the line is still on that side today.

• Moving-average levels. New metrics SMA 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200, shown as prices so they compare directly with
  the price (they stay right across splits and dividends), plus Volume MA5 and MA50. They can also be table columns.

• Three new Technical presets: Above SMA 20 & 50, Golden Cross (SMA 50 crossed above SMA 200 in the last
  5 days) and Volume Surge (up on the day on at least twice the 20-day average volume).

• Technical rules in the Scanner (Pro). A Rules button in the filter bar opens the same rule builder. Only the
  pattern hits whose stock passes every rule on its daily data are listed, and each rule in force shows as a chip you
  can click to edit or ✕ to remove.

• Picking a pattern no longer zooms in. Opening a hit from the Scanner, or picking one in the Patterns list, keeps
  the chart at its normal zoom and briefly highlights the pattern's bars with a coloured column that fades out after
  about three seconds.

Beta

This release is still labelled beta because the rule builder is new. One thing to know: once you save a screen that
uses one of the new rules, an older version (0.4.2 or before) cannot read your saved screens and shows none, and
saving a screen from that older version would replace them. If something looks or behaves oddly, please
open an issue.

• Colour themes. Pick one from the palette button at the top right, or under Settings → Appearance:

  • Midnight, the dark look you know, sharper: brighter candles, easier-to-read grey text, and calmer volume bars.
  • High contrast, near-black with vivid candles and bright text.
  • Daylight, a white background for bright rooms.
  • Washi, soft Japanese colours on warm paper.
  • Sakura, pastel mint, pink and lavender.
  • Colorblind, blue for up and orange for down, with no red/green anywhere.

  The theme covers the whole app, switches at once without losing your zoom, and is remembered next time.

• Candle outline. Next to the themes: None, Thin or Bold puts a black outline around every candle. On
  the light themes the wicks turn black too.

• Patterns stand out from the candles. Detected patterns (trendlines, levels, their labels) are now drawn a shade
  apart from the candles, so they no longer blend into the bars under them.

• Fibonacci drawings as on TradingView. The Fib retracement and extension tools draw TradingView's levels, with every
  band between levels shaded and the labels on the left. The extension now spans points 2 to 3.

• Axis highlights. The drawing you select shows its points' prices on the price axis and their dates on the time
  axis, with a band between them.

Fixed

• Placing and dragging a drawing is smoother: it follows the mouse in the same frame as the crosshair.
• Picking another drawing tool while a drawing is half placed now drops that half-placed drawing.

Fixed

• Stochastic no longer stops after a flat stretch. On a stock that was suspended or stuck at its lowest price, with
  the high and low the same for 14 days or more, the Stochastic lines used to end there and never come back, so the
  pane looked empty. The lines now leave a gap over the flat stretch and carry on once the stock trades again.

What's new

• RSI is now a regular indicator. Open its settings to change the length, the price it uses (close, hl2, hlc3 and
  more) and the overbought / oversold lines, restyle it, hide it, remove it or add a second one. Your chart keeps the RSI
  it had, with the same period, and divergences are still drawn on it.
• Indicator settings are one step away. The Hide, Settings and Remove buttons in the chart legend always show.
  Double-click an indicator's name in the legend, or its own pane, to open its settings. Adding an indicator opens its
  settings straight away.
• Live preview. Changes in the settings dialog show on the chart as you type. OK keeps them; Cancel or Esc puts the
  old ones back.
• Scroll the price axis to stretch prices. Over the price scale on the right, the mouse wheel stretches or squeezes
  that pane's prices around the pointer. Over the chart it still zooms time. Double-click the price scale to fit it again.
• Smoother chart. Moving the mouse only updates the legend, and changing one indicator no longer redraws the others,
  so panes stop flickering and keep the heights you set.
• Focus mode for patterns. Next to Patterns in the sidebar, Focus shows each pattern as a small dot and
  draws one in full only when you hover its dot or its row, or select it. Show all, the default, draws every
  pattern as before.
• Stricter pattern detection. Double tops and bottoms, head and shoulders, and rectangles now need a real prior trend,
  clear pivots and a proper shape, and classic patterns are no longer reported on quiet, barely traded stretches. Expect
  fewer, cleaner patterns.

• Automatic updates: Chartwizard checks for a new version shortly after it starts and every few hours, downloads it

• Settings → Updates: turn automatic checks off or on, check now, and see the update status.

Security

• The app now runs on Electron 44.9.3, which fixes CVE-2026-115570: earlier versions still trusted compromised
  certificates, which could let someone on your network intercept the app's secure connections. Update even if you
  don't need the new features.
