Should we put every directive into its own module?

I sort of don't agree with this because it creates an extra barrier for simply dropping in code. Your module gains additional dependencies, or we have to update the common.js file every single time a new module is added.

Is there no interest in just doing ui.bootstrap?

We did it this way so people could just copy/paste for example tabs.js from the repo without having to declare a ui.bootstrap module too. We generate a master module when people build with grunt, though.

So it's the best of both worlds: drop-in-ability for one or two (copy/paste), and one module for many (grunt).

If you guys checkout the best practices talk on YouTube he states specifically that doing 1 module per directive defeats the purpose of modules. I also again don't get what you gain, when you could simply just leave out the files you don't want to use.

No but seriously. Right now it is just a matter of taste as it doesn't appear to have any behaviour or performance impact. But in the medium term angularjs will support dynamic loading of modules and then it will be so much better to have small composable modules.
