cell merge (create single row by merging all the cells)

Its not duplicate question with other cell and row merge question.

This is not currently possible in 2.x nor 3.x. It can be done with the header, but not with data rows.

I don't believe that any of the current developers have this as a priority task, so whilst it's a feature that could be added, it probably won't happen any time soon. As an open source project in general features only get worked on if a particular developer has a need for that feature, or a desire to see it implemented.

We are of course always happy to add to our development team if you'd like to contribute.

@yrojha4ever: there shouldn't be any need to be added to the team as such, you can fork the repository and make your contributions via pull requests.

We've had a bit of interest in the last few days, and so I've extended the contributing guides to provide a bit more information. Probably the best places to now start are either: http://ui-grid.info/docs/#/tutorial/098_contributing_to_ui-grid, or https://github.com/angular-ui/ng-grid/blob/master/README.md.

Take a look at what's involved, and then work out what sort of contribution you'd like to make. And consider staying close to gitter, as that's a great way to see what's currently being worked on and where the key issues currently lie.

I believe that merging cells can be handled through custom rowTemplates, with a bit of fiddling around. I have added a basic example of this to the 317 templates tutorial.
