[List] Items do not expand in a dropdown menu

What is the expected behavior? When you click in the drowdown items expands without overwriting the others

What is the current behavior? mat-list-items overrides the other items

Which versions of Angular, Material, OS, TypeScript, browsers are affected?

Angular 5.0.3
Materials 5.0.0-rc 3

The list-items are supposed to allow only low-height elements. Try overriding them like this:

.app-class .mat-list-item {
  height: auto;
}

<mat-list class="app-class">
  <mat-list-item>
    <mat-form-field>
      <textarea matInput rows="7"></textarea>
    </mat-form-field>
  </mat-list-item>
  <mat-list-item>Item 2</mat-list-item>
  <mat-list-item>Item 3</mat-list-item>
</mat-list>

It will be impossible today, I'll try asap. Anyway, the problem appears where you have multiples items and mat-list in the sidenav . The first is opened over the second, and so on, without expanding.
