Select -> option abstraction

Other selenium language bindings abstract the select->option blocks away, for instance:

• Select class (Python)
• Select class (Java)

Would it make sense to ease dealing with select->option by making a similar abstraction?

Do you think this is a feature better suited to implementation in Protractor or WebDriverJS?

Good question. Personally, I think there is nothing wrong to have it implemented here, in Protractor. As for an example, a while ago Hank added the "Expected Conditions" feature which could also raise a similar argument where the feature belongs to..yet, it is here and I'm happy we have it. Plus, protractor's by.options locator can be used to locate the options internally..just thoughts.

This is still a good idea! The idea would be to add a browser.select() method that applies the convenience wrapper to an element. PRs welcome!

I'd much rather this be part of Protractor than my hack to add it!
