v0.2.0 focuses on making the tool teachable: an in-app onboarding guide, an official website, and a full user manual. No breaking changes — git pull && npm install to upgrade.

新手引导 Onboarding

• 做一本书 · 新手引导任务卡：六项任务（核对规格 / 写好每一页 / 连接生图服务·可选 / 挑选插画 / 完成封面 / 导出草稿），完成状态从书本、服务配置与导出历史自动推导，实时进度条；每项附「为什么这一步存在」——包括为什么需要 API 地址与 Key、没有 Key 怎么办。点击直达对应步骤，可收起并从侧栏唤回。
• 四个阶段的「为什么是这一步」导语：规格先行 / 付费拦截 / 封面随页数联动 / 屏幕≠印刷，各 2–3 句讲透因果。
• 情境提示：设置弹窗开场解释 Key 的作用与可跳过性；候选区空状态给出无 Key 的两条路径。

First public release of KDP Helper (绘本工坊) — a local-first, MIT-licensed workbench for making print-ready children's picture books for Amazon KDP.

Highlights

• Spec-first print setup — trim (8.25×8.25 / 8.5×8.5 / 8×10 / 8.5×11), black & white (white/cream paper), standard & premium color, with/without bleed. Page ranges, spine width, bleed geometry, gutter tiers and 300-DPI pixel minimums all come from official KDP documentation with source links and checked dates (src/domain/print-spec.ts).
• Illustration pipeline with money guardrails — call your own image API (OpenAI-compatible) or import your own art; paid calls are refused when requested pixels can't print, batches pause on low-res results, uncertain requests never auto-retry (persistent operation IDs prevent double billing).
• Candidate compare & pick — zoom-in lightbox with source/prompt/model provenance, 2–3 image side-by-side compare, per-page re-generation.
• Layout & cover — two page templates, font size & print-safe text colors, zoom/crop with live effective-DPI, spread preview, wraparound cover (back + spine + front) computed from final page count, reuse an interior illustration as cover.
• Validated export — real interior.pdf + cover.pdf + upload-notes.txt; odd page counts, missing glyphs, text overflow, sub-300-DPI images and placeholder text block production export (watermarked drafts always available). Embedded CJK font (OFL), CMYK-flattened images, B&W interiors export grayscale.
• Costs & royalty — US printing-cost estimate per ink/paper tier and royalty estimate including the $9.98/$9.99 (50%→60%) rate breakpoint.
• Local & private — no accounts, no cloud, no telemetry; API key stays in a local file; 127.0.0.1 only. Works fully offline with imported images.

Verification

115 offline tests (print rules, jobs, store, real PDF files, offline route-to-file flow) + typecheck + lint + build, green in CI (Node 24).

Known limits

• UI is Chinese-first; README has a full English section; i18n is on the roadmap.
