@roosre this PR is failing due to the fatpack dependency (used in one of the examples) being incompatible with numpy 2.x. I have fixed this in Gunnstein/fatpack#25, but it has not been released.

We can either:

  1. wait for a release
  2. install fatpack from its main branch
  3. remove the fatpack example (undesirable, IMO)

I'd suggest waiting a bit more, then going with 2. if still needed.

@greschd I agree. Let's wait. Is that the only module which is not compatible with numpy 2? Do you know if other Ansys modules were already updated?

@roosre yes, for example PyGeometry runs with numpy 2.x in their CI. But others (e.g. PyMAPDL) also explicitly block numpy 2.x, so I think it will be a bit of a process before the metapackage will get 2.x.

In any case, we're not blocking that since our own dependency on numpy doesn't have an upper limit, and fatpack is only in the docs and all extras (not installed by default), which are not consumed by the pyansys metapackage.
