Likely stable release date

Hi,

QQ, is there a target for when a stable full release will be available?

Many thanks

The CRD schema is still evolving fairly rapidly, so it will probably be some time before we release 1.0. But it's already being used in production at some orgs, so you I don't see any reason not to consider it production grade. Just make sure you read the release notes when upgrading to make sure any breaking changes are addressed.

Thank you. I saw the alpha status and we do not typically use that in production. To paraphrase you, "it is production grade but due to evolving CRD it is not yet ready for 1.0". That's good enough for me.

Correct. We've placed an enormous amount of effort on CI/automation, development and testing policies, dependency/vulnerability management and security in general. So from that perspective I feel we're on a very solid foundation. There has also been significant effort put into making the CRD as clean as possible, drawing inspiration and learnings from the official Helm chart. However, we don't want to declare the CRD stable yet, as we've still been seeing the need for minor breaking changes from time to time. Having said all this, at the current rate, we're making good progress in terms of stabilizing the CRD, so I wouldn't be surprised if we can declare the CRD stable and release 1.0 sometime within the next 6 months.
