Things that had to be omitted/altered:
Performance testing does not have metrics available in XCTest so those tests are currently disabled on linux builds.
NSEC_PER_SEC does not exist for linux so just use duration or spelled out values.
Correct a few pthread oddities that differ between Glibc and Darwin
