Release v2.89.0

dev → master. Version 2.89.0 (pubspec.yaml). On staging since fb3e74507; production deploy from the merge commit b4699e840. Five PRs since 2.88.1 (#2231–#2235), all user-visible, hence a minor.

What's new

Upload always works from New. Upload File(s) and Upload Folder are always in the New menu and always lead somewhere. On All Drives they open your only drive, or ask which one (most recently used first). With no drives, they offer New Drive and pick the upload up again once the drive exists. The upload dialog names the drive and says whether it is public or private before the picker opens. (#2232)

New Drive with no drive open. On All Drives the New menu used to show only Advanced → Attach Drive, which read as broken. New Drive is now always offered and Attach Drive sits at the top level. A wallet that can't pay for a drive is offered Buy Credits instead of a dead end. (#2231)

Click to select, double-click to open. Both the drive view and Your Drives now behave like a desktop file manager. One click selects, a double-click opens, and Enter opens the selected row. On touch screens, one tap opens. The slow second click that used to enter a folder is gone. (#2233)

A drive's details beside Your Drives. Clicking a drive opens a details panel with its ID, dates, size, contents, and share, rename and hide actions. A drive that has never been synced says so and offers Sync Now. Opening the panel never starts a sync. (#2234)

Upload confirmation is quiet. Confirming an upload used to run a full sync of every drive, which showed "Still reading this drive" and locked multi-select for no visible reason. It now just asks the gateway about the pending transactions: first after 30s, then at widening intervals up to 20m. Files are marked confirmed on the same rule as before, and usually sooner. The status dot on each file has a tooltip explaining pending, confirmed and failed. (#2235)

Smaller things

  • The drive view's sidebar lines up with the Your Drives rail, and clicking the open drive returns to its root in every group
  • The Sync control on Your Drives has hover, press and pointer states
  • The drive view's table headings use the same spacing as Your Drives
  • Upload dialogs scroll instead of overflowing on narrow phones at large text sizes
  • The mobile plus menu no longer lists Import from Manifest twice for a public drive

Fixes

  • More Info on a never-synced drive no longer spins forever
  • The explorer's details panel for an unsynced drive has a close button
  • The data table's key handlers are removed on dispose

Behaviour change worth knowing

Having an unconfirmed upload no longer triggers a full sync every 20 minutes, so it no longer picks up changes made on other devices as a side effect. Those are still reported by the unread-changes probe, and Resync is unchanged.
