Daniel's Frontier v0.7.0
Daniel's Frontier v0.7.0 - Interface, recovery and pilot skills
- HUD layouts and display settings remember this PC's monitor/window size, including panel sizes, pins and diagnostic position. Fixed Settings Back/Escape after live HUD/text changes.
- Native-pixel UI sizing, rectangular responsive maps, smaller base/gate icons (70%) and a clearer player marker (115%). Refined shop, hangar, Personal File, stats and damage-meter layouts.
- Faster out-of-combat health/shield recovery, stronger recovery near bases and three repair utility tiers. Real weapon launches interrupt recovery.
- More frequent rolled equipment, a first normal cache by the third kill and saved protection against long normal-equipment dry streaks. Boss Mythic pity remains 1% / guaranteed by 100 eligible equipment rewards.
- Compact rarity-colored rewards expand to show item attributes. Original textured training buoy replaces the placeholder.
- Original 31-node skill tree across six branches, five-rank upgrades and six major unlocks. Existing skill points refund once with a preserved save snapshot.
- Online contacts show live presence. Session groups support up to five pilots with invitations, leaving and leader controls; rewards remain individual.
Extract the entire Windows ZIP into a folder before running DanielsFrontier.exe. Online clients and server must match v0.7.0 content. Offline and online progression remain separate. Account registration still requires the owner's private invite; no admin-grant chat commands are available in release builds.
Build, scripted engine input, rendered UI and local two-client checks passed. Physical monitor changes, long-session balance and five-human internet acceptance remain playtest targets. This is a private-test game; the downloadable client is public, but source and server account data are private.
Daniel's Frontier v0.6.0
Daniel's Frontier v0.6.0 - Frontier expansion
Explore and hunt
- Home Sector, Verdant Rift and Ember Reach have 50, 65 and 80 encounters distributed across the map, outside protected base/gate areas.
- Home and Rift each include two minibosses and one map boss. Ember includes three minibosses and one map boss.
- Ordinary respawns are 18/20/22 seconds by sector; minibosses and map bosses retain longer recovery windows. Respawns wait when a pilot is too close.
- Larger hunting populations are tuned provisionally for five players. Five-player internet performance and sustained economy balance still need player testing.
Build your ship
- Seven player hulls and fifteen original enemy designs rebuilt in Blender, with distinct silhouettes and textured materials. Artwork remains under active refinement.
- Expanded equipment/stat progression, a larger Credit economy, category-specific rolled attributes, a 500-level curve, Mythic boss rewards and saved pity protection.
- Boss equipment rewards remain claimable when cargo is full. Existing Credit/XP conversions apply once; accounts and owned gear are retained.
- New Stats and Damage meter panels; corrected damage-over-time timing/contributor attribution, capped-scrap pickup and distinct rolled range display.
Interface and presentation
- Shop catalogs measure actual row sizes and use expanded panel height across equipment, formations, crates and hulls. Previews use the remaining space and fit larger models.
- Equipped inventory banks take priority over empty cargo space.
- Main screen includes a minimizable installed-build release-notes panel and a public repository link.
- Damage meter has its own generated icon. Salvage containers use a subtle pulsing aura instead of floating labels.
Updating
Download the complete Windows ZIP, extract all files and keep the folder together, or use Check for updates in your existing client. Online play now requires v0.6.0 or newer to keep client and server definitions aligned. Offline saves remain on your PC and never upload to online accounts.
The public package excludes server data, private invites, Resend credentials and admin grant commands. Online registration still requires the owner's private invite. This is a free private test universe; art, combat feel, touchpad behavior, five-player network performance and long-term balance remain test targets.
Daniel's Frontier v0.5.1
Daniel's Frontier v0.5.1 - smooth online flight
Download DanielsFrontier-Windows.zip, extract everything, and run DanielsFrontier.exe. Existing v0.5.0 clients can use Check for updates.
- Online player now moves every frame with gradual authoritative corrections instead of jumping at the snapshot rate. Tested with an additional250ms response delay; real-network acceptance remains ongoing.
- Bottom-left FPS, frame-time and HTTP round-trip ping/variation display, with stale-connection indication.
- Original Blender-built salvage container with embedded generated metal texture replaces the temporary loot prism.
- Generated transparent game-title wordmark in the main menu.
- New registration and completed registration clear all form fields.
- Public release builds exclude local admin grant commands. Server admin grants remain unavailable.
Use Online ? Sign in with your existing game-account email/password. A private invite is required only when creating an account. Offline saves remain local; online progress remains on the private server. This client uses the existing protocol3 server; no server database migration is needed.
Daniel's Frontier v0.5.0
Daniel's Frontier v0.5.0 - shared-universe test
Download DanielsFrontier-Windows.zip, extract the complete archive and run DanielsFrontier.exe.
- Full game scene/HUD online, with server-owned equipment, inventory, shop, skills, ships, formations, combat, salvage and linked sectors.
- Separate sign-in/register/recovery pages; invite shown only for registration. Recovery email is configured and Gmail delivery confirmed; complete account-reset acceptance testing remains pending.
- Compact/resizable HUD, clean target overlay, aspect-correct minimap, pen-based hotbar editor, improved shop pages, stable screen-space nameplates and balanced drone formations.
- First automatic-update-capable build. Older clients need this full ZIP manually once. Future versions use verified downloads and managed-file backups.
Your offline pilots remain local. Online profiles remain on the private game server. A game account and private registration invite are required for online access. Full group/party mechanics and further network smoothing remain future work.
Validated locally with rendered UI matrices, offline gameplay/fleet suites, isolated account/combat/persistence checks and two independent full-scene clients. This is a test build; friend-PC acceptance of this revision remains pending.
This repository distributes runtime builds only. The SpaceGame source repository remains private.
Login on another PC: choose Online, use Sign in with your existing game-account email and password, then enter the shared universe. An invite is needed only to register a new account. Extract the entire ZIP into a fresh folder; do not run from inside the archive.
