[0.7.7] - 2026-09-03

This fix-forward patch moves the completed adoption and cross-platform work to
a new release identity. The remote annotated v0.7.6 tag remains immutably
bound to source commit 618f9f261433d99449ab1541db8a326f40c6493a and has no
GitHub Release. It must not be moved or reused for the newer source.

Added

  • Render the primary installation, client-integration, architecture, platform,
troubleshooting, and enterprise guides as first-party static documentation
with canonical metadata, structured data, sitemap entries, and bounded
    Markdown link handling.
  • Add an explicit trusted-terminal Linux migration from the existing volatile
kernel keyring to Secret Service. Unmigrated projects retain their existing
backend, partial or contradictory migration state fails closed, and the
encrypted-file vault remains the documented headless option.
  • Exercise both npm wrappers inside every matching native release runner after
the exact archive and transactional installer have passed acceptance.

Fixed

  • Preserve the six-host package acceptance boundary while passing native
absolute npm tarball paths through unchanged.
  • Keep Windows short-path tildes such as RUNNER~1 from being encoded as a
    literal %7E path segment.
  • Resolve native home and cache paths consistently on Windows, including when
Git Bash or MSYS exports a Unix-shaped HOME, without widening accepted
    filesystem authority.
  • Restore the adoption-focused landing experience, direct GitHub star actions,
six-target download chooser, machine-readable discovery files, and truthful
public release metadata while keeping hosted-service and deployment claims
    separately gated.
  • Strengthen encrypted-file restart coverage and Linux backend reporting so a
volatile kernel-keyring project is not described as reboot-persistent.
  • Carry forward dedicated security, pricing, enterprise, and government pages
from the unpublished 0.7.6 public-site tranche.
  • Retain its privacy-preserving analytics, accessibility, responsive behavior,
and fail-closed rendering when hosted dependencies are not commissioned.

Breaking changes and migration

There are no intentional CLI, MCP, proxy, or configuration breaking changes.
Linux users must explicitly run and approve phantom vault migrate-linux from
an attached trusted terminal before a project switches to Secret Service. The
source and automation are release-candidate evidence only until an immutable
v0.7.7 GitHub Release and its six native acceptance rows are verified.
Existing direct or Homebrew v0.7.5 installations can remain in place until
that release is available and independently verified.
