Release list
Asqueel Migration 0.2.1
Fixes
- Create a missing database using the connection's destination, even when the desired schema has a different logical name.
- Reject missing migration-service inputs before accessing the database.
- Report malformed structure containers as validation errors with field paths, with or without the optional JSON Schema dependency.
Maintenance
- Expand regression coverage for input ownership, plan drift, unsupported operations, repeatable preparation, removals, verification and connection cleanup.
- Update architecture and usage documentation after the server extraction.
- Resolve mypy diagnostics with annotations and development typing dependencies; runtime dependencies and the legacy assignment API remain unchanged.
Validation
- PostgreSQL/SQLite engine suite: 517 passed; 5 skipped and 12 MySQL/SQL Server tests deselected locally.
- Consumer compatibility: Asqueel 868 passed (1 skipped), DB Manager 28 passed.
- CI passed on Python 3.10–3.13 and PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL and SQL Server, including documentation and patch coverage.
- Ruff and mypy passed. Wheel and source distributions passed strict metadata checks and isolated installation/SQLite migration smoke tests.
Install with pip install --upgrade asqueel-migration==0.2.1; add [postgresql], [mysql] or [mssql] for the required driver.
Asqueel Migration 0.2.0
Asqueel Migration 0.2.0 isolates caller-owned schema inputs and exposes transport-independent migration planning and execution.
- Accept normalized JSON text or dictionaries through
SqlMigrator(..., structure=...), preserving source data and repeatable capability warnings. - Add
plan_migrationandapply_migration, with reviewed-plan identifiers, drift detection, unsupported-operation rejection and convergence verification. - Move the Kajenn HTTP/MCP application into the separate
asqueel-dbmanagerpackage. The engine'sappextra andEditorAppare removed; Python XML helpers remain available. - Preserve quoted identifiers consistently in migration SQL and introspection.
Compatibility: ormStructure assignment takes an independent snapshot. Mutating its exposed working dictionary no longer changes the source; reassign the desired structure. Plan identifiers detect drift but do not lock external DDL.
Validation: Python 3.10–3.13 CI, PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server integrations, documentation and package checks passed. Asqueel consumer compatibility was verified with 868 passing tests and one skip.
See PR #18 for the coordinated change and asqueel-dbmanager for the administrative application.
