VMRX Core v0.1.3 — standalone P2P reliability update
VMRX Core v0.1.3 — Standalone P2P bootstrap reliability fix
VMRX Core v0.1.3 corrects intermittent failure of the standalone daemon to retain a usable mainnet connection during its first synchronization. This is a non-consensus maintenance release.
Fixed
- When started on VMRX mainnet without manually specified peer flags,
vmrxdnow maintains the two existing built-in VMRX bootstrap addresses as persistent preferred outbound peers, rather than relying solely on brief seed handshakes that close before a usable P2P connection is established. - Keeps the ability to discover peers normally after connecting.
- Explicit
--add-priority-node,--add-exclusive-node,--seed-node,--add-peer,--offlineand testnet/stagenet usage retain their previous behavior. No upstream Monero peers are used. - Correctly branded native
vmrxd.exefor Windows andvmrxdfor Linux.
Regression and compatibility
- Mainnet genesis and all historical blockchain consensus rules are unchanged. In particular, the historical block 1 containing the disclosed 200,000 VMRX founder premine remains validated exactly as before.
- Fresh Linux and Windows CI builds validate the actual VMRX P2P mainnet through historical height 1193 and check original chain hashes at heights 0, 1, 2, 10, 100 and 1193.
- The Windows build additionally runs two independent fresh-data standalone first-boot tests without any manual peer override, requiring working peer connections and full historical mainnet synchronization.
- The official v0.1.2 standalone binary demonstrated this reliability issue: one clean Windows test synced to height 1221 with 2 peers, but another stayed at 0 peers for five minutes despite successful transient seed handshakes. This is not a reason to regenerate the genesis or relax any consensus validation.
- These are automated functional checks, not a guarantee of perpetual seed uptime or an independent security audit.
Packages
VMRX-Core-windows-x86_64-v0.1.3.zip— newly compiled Windows x64 native daemon, official VMRX Windows icon and required MinGW runtime libraries.VMRX-Core-linux-x86_64-v0.1.3.tar.gz— newly compiled Linux x86_64 native daemon.SHA256SUMS— release archive checksums.
On Windows, extract all ZIP contents (not just the EXE) to a new directory and run vmrxd.exe as an ordinary user. Keep RPC bound to 127.0.0.1:29781; P2P is 29780/TCP. Never share VMRX chain data or wallet data with upstream Monero or VMESH. Safely back up your existing data before replacing a live installation.
Operator note: The separately published VMRX Node & Miner GUI v0.1.2 still contains the exact Core v0.1.2 archive and explicitly configures a preferred peer. It is not automatically upgraded by this separate Core release. A future GUI bundle can use Core v0.1.3 after separate integration testing.
Wallet limitation: This Core daemon is not a verified standalone wallet. Founder mnemonic/seed recovery, wallet spend/receive and independent security assessment remain unresolved. Never enter seeds into the Node & Miner GUI; do not share keys or seed phrases.
VMRX Core v0.1.3 + Wallet Beta 1
VMRX Core v0.1.3 — Wallet Beta 1
Experimental fork-native Windows x64 and Linux x64 wallet-RPC binaries,
packaged with VMRX Core v0.1.3 daemon and open-source license.
Wallet binaries are named vmrx-wallet-rpc(.exe), not upstream Monero.
Tested in independent GitHub Actions environments (Windows and Linux):
wallet create, encrypted keys saved, wallet close/reopen, mnemonic seed
restored from block height zero into a different file, primary address
and view key preserved, correct VMRX mainnet genesis.
IMPORTANT: NOT a stable wallet release, not audited. No real funded
receive/send transaction or historical founder wallet recovery proven.
Never share your recovery words, never use Monero or VMESH seed files.
Verify checksum and seed recovery with zero/low funds before use.
Wallet RPC must bind 127.0.0.1 with strong credentials.

VMRX Core v0.1.0 · Linux x86_64
VMRX Core v0.1.0 — Linux x86_64 public release
First main-channel release of the VMRX Linux full-node binary archive and public fork source. The binary archive is byte-for-byte identical to the previously published RC2 archive, only renamed. No new independent build or security audit is claimed.
Included
VMRX-Core-linux-x86_64-v0.1.0.tar.gz— Linux x86_64 VMRX Core, same binary bytes as RC2.SHA256SUMS— SHA256 of the actual archive distributed under this filename.- Source code, network specification, documentation, license and brand assets in the public repository.
Mainnet
RandomX, target 120 seconds, P2P 29780, localhost daemon RPC 29781. Genesis: 405baab8805904ffb7d3643a5004c43b45fc3f5f4c97e712ba4c078a384139d4.
200,000 VMRX founder premine at height 1. Monero-derived tail emission 0.6 VMRX per target block, no strict supply cap.
Limitations
- Linux Core only. No native Windows Core binary. The separate Windows GUI does not include a standalone node.
- Seed restoration did not reproduce the known founder address; spend and receipt tests remain unresolved.
- No independent audit, reproducible binary build, release signing, consensus certification or full production wallet guarantee.
- Upstream Monero daemon/CLI strings remain in the fork; do not mix with Monero peer networks or blockchain databases.
See Release status, Founder allocation and Security for details.
VMRX Core RC2 - Linux x86_64 (pre-release)
VMRX Core RC2 — DRAFT release notes
Status: operator-tested Linux release candidate, not independently audited.
Assessment date: 2026-10-24
Do not tag as stable or advertise as fully approved for exchange/listing custody use.
RC2 technical capabilities (operator-validated)
- Separate VMRX chain identity and Genesis; local production node started successfully.
- RandomX/HF16 mining works; 298 H/s measured on 1 CPU thread.
- Local P2P block transfer and cross-VPS chain sync to height 5 verified.
- Local mined blocks through height 68 accepted; local peers agreed at height 69.
- Founder output configured for 200,000 VMRX at block 1 (premine).
- Original wallet displayed unlocked balance after refresh to 69/69.
Important compatibility requirements
- Provided RC2 binary reported upstream Monero-derived version string
v0.18.5.4-release. - Linux binary tested on Ubuntu 24.04; depends on Boost 1.83 and other system libraries.
- Archive execute permissions require repair for non-root installations.
- Windows daemon executable / wallet binary and Linux package integrations have not been supplied or tested in this kit.
Known issues / security
- Independent security and monetary audits not done.
- Founder-wallet offline seed backup not verified against primary address; attempted restore yielded a different address.
- Confirmed mature-founder output spend still outstanding.
- Default first seed-node configuration remains partially isolated; additional public discovery needs validation.
- Windows/macOS GUI and production-grade wallet UX are still under development.
- Do not state fixed max supply: current RC2 has a 0.6 VMRX tail emission.
