• Site-owned cookie gates (a small "Continue" page whose script sets a fixed cookie and reloads, e.g. fccid.io) are solved inline, without a browser; challenge_type is "cookie_gate". With cache_dir, the cookie is cached for its Max-Age, up to a day.
• A browser solve no longer returns a page from another origin; the redirect reaches the caller as a normal 3xx, or wafer follows it. A passed-through page reports the server's real status instead of always 200.
• Each host in a redirect chain gets its own browser solve.
