Fella v0.3.0
Fella v0.3.0
A new Electron desktop release, pairing a model-led analytics workflow with Fella’s local Rust engine.
What’s new
- Electron desktop app. Replaces Tauri while keeping the analytics engine local. Existing settings, provider credentials, and conversation history are reused.
- Ask with or without a folder. Start general conversations immediately. File-backed conversations stay with the repository where they were created.
- A more capable analysis loop. Fella can inspect data, break questions into steps, use workspace context and conversation history, and ask a structured clarification when an assumption matters. The runtime also improves joins, filters, time comparisons, ratios, and forecasting.
- More ways to analyze and visualize. SQL handles exact data queries; sandboxed Python is available for statistical work. Charts now cover bar, line, area, pie/donut, scatter, histogram, box plot, heatmap, and forecast views.
- Better support for large folders. Recursive inventory, streamed table ingestion, bounded workspace preparation, and mount progress improve handling of nested collections.
- Clearer, steadier results. Source and analysis details remain available to inspect, with improvements to chart layout and fewer redundant analysis steps.
Upgrade notes
From the v0.2.0 Tauri app, install the Electron package manually once; the old updater cannot migrate the desktop shell. After that, Fella reuses your existing local app data and /update can handle future Electron updates.
These installers are unsigned. Review the attached SHA256SUMS before installing. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning; macOS may require approving Fella in Privacy & Security.
