Fella v0.4.0

A new desktop release, extending the Electron app and local Rust engine with a workspace for persistent investigations and reusable analytical results.

What’s new

  • Chat and Notebook workspace. Chat, Files, and Reports now share the main sidebar. Open an Investigation’s Notebook alongside Chat to review its brief, sources, questions, analyses, and results. The panes adapt to smaller windows while keeping native OS window controls.
  • Named Investigations. Investigations can be named and keep their objective, source scope, question plan, runs, findings, and evidence together for later review.
  • Interactive analytical presentations. JSON-render layouts can combine narrative, metrics, tables, charts, and supported controls. Presentation values come from verified analysis results, and the answer remains available if a layout cannot be displayed.
  • Reusable analysis and revision history. Save analytical results beyond a conversation, keep source and evidence context, and review changes across revisions without discarding prior results.
  • Portable reports. Export saved analysis as Markdown or a portable Fella snapshot without rerunning the analysis.

Upgrade notes

Fella 0.4.0 retains your local app data and settings from v0.3.0. Install the package for your operating system. Linux DEB updates require downloading and reinstalling the package manually.

These installers are unsigned. Review the attached SHA256SUMS before installing. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning; macOS may require approving Fella in Privacy & Security.
