AeroFTP 4.0.x, Rolling Tracker

Umbrella issue for AeroFTP 4.0.x: known issues for the current release (v4.0.5, release notes, published 2026-06-16) and the patches/updates already landed on main for the next patch release (v4.0.6).

What shipped in 4.0.5

• AeroCrypt native encrypted overlay (format AECR v3): client-side encryption that turns any server, protocol or provider into a zero-knowledge vault, browsed in the same dual panel as a normal server, with a per-profile AeroCrypt Profile binding and rclone crypt beside it as the labelled interop lane ([ROADMAP] Wrappers/Overlays #272, AeroVault Wrapper-Stack and Cryptography: Design Conversation #276)
• AeroVault v4 (v3 + Error Correction): Reed-Solomon self-healing vaults (10+2 grid, about 20% overhead), scrub / repair with an all-or-nothing gate, GUI and CLI surfaces, and a unified content-bound .aerocorrect sidecar with windowed streaming (AeroVault Wrapper-Stack and Cryptography: Design Conversation #276)
• AeroSync error-correction control in the Plan tab, default-on for the Backup preset, with a sync-doctor cost estimate
• Interactive CLI TUI (alpha preview): a full-screen dual-pane file manager (aeroftp tui) with a My Servers IntroHub, command palette and transfer queue (RFC: from `profiles -i` to a full `aeroftp-cli` TUI #311)

Post-4.0.5 follow-up, fixed on main, pending v4.0.6:

Connection / GUI	Editing a saved SFTP profile and switching its protocol to FTP crashed the app with React error #300 ("Rendered fewer hooks than expected"). The SSH auth section open/close useState lived inside the protocol === 'sftp' branch of ProtocolFields, so switching to FTP changed the rendered hook count. Moved the hook to the component top level so the count stays stable across protocol changes. Frontend-only, reproducible on any OS (reported on Windows 11, 4.0.4 and 4.0.5).	🟢 fixed	11536bdda (#336)

✅ Released as v4.0.6.

Everything queued in the table above shipped in v4.0.6, now published on all channels (release notes). The headline is the AeroVault crate convergence: the full AEROVAULT3 container and the revision 4 Reed-Solomon error correction now live in the published aerovault crate (0.6.0 on crates.io), so the desktop app, the standalone CLI and any third-party Rust project run one audited implementation instead of parallel copies, about 4,300 lines of duplicated cryptography removed, with a cross-implementation fixture pinning the app and the crate to byte-for-byte identical containers so existing vaults are unaffected.

Alongside it: the SFTP→FTP profile-edit crash fix (#300, #336), the CLI benchmark report rendered as aligned tables, the cross-profile benchmark --compare, the interactive and --tui picker polish with the [✓] marker (#277), and a folder-upload skip/overwrite policy fix found by an independent CLI security audit. Thanks to @EhudKirsh for driving the AEROVAULT3 and benchmark direction.

Per the tracker convention, 4.0.x patches accumulated here; the next patch line gets its own tracker (#338). Known issues found in 4.0.6 will be logged there as reports come in.
