@ayovu ayovu released this 18 Oct 23:08

First public preview of Ranslator, a native screen translator for Linux.

  • Translate selected text or capture screen content with OCR.
  • Keep multiple translations open with Shift/Ctrl, then move and resize their cards.
  • Use Ollama, compatible LLM APIs, CLI runtimes, LibreTranslate or MyMemory.
  • Customize languages, shortcuts, appearance and startup behavior.

Linux x86_64 packages: AppImage, Flatpak and a portable archive.
See INSTALL.txt for installation and VALIDATION.md for checks and limitations.

Developed on Arch Linux with KDE Plasma Wayland. Other desktops may differ
in capture, shortcuts and visual effects. macOS remains experimental;
no macOS binary is included.

English OCR is bundled. Additional OCR languages require language packs.
LLM translation accuracy varies. Automatic mode may use online MyMemory
when local Ollama is unavailable.
