Release list
v0.23.0
Ten rounds of setup and settings checks, and more detector settings.
Easier to find and change
- Pests have their own settings page, shown on the Animals tab of the sidebar page with every other animal. When to watch is on the Cameras tab.
- An animal's page has Alerts, Missing mode and Critical alerts switches at the top; a person's page has Gets critical alerts. Pests and the other groups have their critical switches on the Animals tab.
- Remove buttons ask first. Leaving a page with unsaved changes asks too, and a form that comes back with an error keeps what you typed.
- The Review tab shows how many are waiting. Answered photos leave the list at once, and It was… → Something else lets you type any animal.
- Clearer wording everywhere, shorter first-run setup, and checks that catch mistakes (the same model in both AI lists, a camera set up twice, half-set quiet hours, a detector address that doesn't answer).
Behaviour
- Missing mode now watches around the clock, not just at night.
- Missing-mode alerts say Missing: possible …; unsure-motion alerts say Unsure motion.
- Paid AI models always go last in their list.
- Tapping an alert opens your review page even with the correction buttons off.
- The built-in AI instructions now follow updates unless you've edited them.
Local detector (Detector tab, or the vision service's own page)
- New settings: Detects with GPU or CPU, Photos for the first round, Training length, Picture size, plus Stop training and Undo the last round. A This week line shows how often it agrees with the AI.
- Training times follow the NAS's own clock: the compose file now mounts
/etc/localtimeinstead of settingTZ. - Update the vision service by copying
vision/app.py,vision/train.pyandvision/ui.htmlto its./appfolder (or pull the image again).
v0.22.0
The Neighborhood Watch page in the sidebar now has everything in one place, in tabs:
- Review: the To review list, the same as on the dashboard card.
- Cameras, Animals, People: a list of each with its picture or sprite. Open one to change it, add a new one, or remove an animal.
- Alerts, AI, Detector: the rest of the settings, grouped by topic, with the detector's status and training on the Detector tab.
The forms are the integration's own Configure and animal forms, so the settings, checks and explanations are exactly the same as in Settings → Devices & services, and a change in one shows in the other.
v0.21.0
A Neighborhood Watch page in the sidebar (admins only) for the local detector: what it runs on, training progress, past rounds with before and after scores, a Train now button, and the training settings (on or off, day, hour, photos needed, GPU or CPU). The vision service has the same page at its own address.
Training now uses the Intel GPU by default and falls back to the CPU. Pull the vision image again to get the GPU build and the settings page.
v0.20.1
v0.20.0
Sprites: 21 common breeds and coats in the Sprite list (tabbies, solids, bicolours, Maine Coon, Siamese, Ragdoll, Birman, Himalayan, Sphynx, tortoiseshell, Bengal, Abyssinian, Scottish Fold, Persian); left and right sides now match.
Unknown cats: an animal the AI can't name shows on the card under Also seen, drawn as the look nearest to the coat it described. New card setting: Show under Also seen.
Setup: Sprite sits under the animal's name (cats only); a camera picked by mistake can be skipped; the training folder is checked when saved; a Repairs warning when there are animals but no Second opinion model; clearer wording throughout.
Needs a Home Assistant restart.
v0.19.0
Sleeping sprites: an animal that is away lately dozes with its tail down and Zs drifting up, waking now and then (asleep 50% at first, 75% after a month away, 95% after two). Tabby tails keep their stripes when down. Softer belly, throat and chest blends and lighter feet on two of the preset looks. Card-only change: no restart needed, just refresh the dashboard.
v0.18.2
v0.18.1
Sprites: tails wrapped round the paws are drawn in layers (behind the body, the body, and the part on the ground in front), with a line where the front lies over the back. Cleaner outlines: no black clumps or lone black pixels, the tail always outlined against the body, and the soft shading where it comes out from behind kept. Cuff and long-haired tail fixes.
