PressPilot 2.3.0 — work on the subscription you already have

Install: upload presspilot.zip (attached) via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Requires WordPress 5.8+ and PHP 7.4+.

What's new

  • Work on the subscription you already have — no API key. The Agents screen now carries a verified, copy-paste setup for every subscription client: Claude Code (CLI and the VS Code / JetBrains extensions), Claude Desktop / claude.ai (custom connectors), OpenAI Codex (CLI and IDE), ChatGPT (Developer-mode connectors), VS Code + GitHub Copilot, and Cursor / Windsurf. Each runs on its own plan — Claude Pro/Max, ChatGPT Plus/Pro, Copilot — and the plugin never sees a model API key.
  • Fix: the VS Code snippet was in the wrong format. VS Code reads servers (not mcpServers) and requires "type": "http"; it now also uses VS Code's inputs mechanism so the key is prompted for once and stored securely instead of living in the file. Each client's format was checked against its own documentation — they are not interchangeable.
  • Claude Code now also gets the shareable .mcp.json form with ${PRESSPILOT_KEY} expansion, so a team can commit the file without the secret.
  • Clients that can only take a bare URL (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT) are flagged on the screen when "Key in the URL" is off, instead of silently handing out a URL that will not authenticate.
  • The Connect screen now explains the two paths side by side: your agent connects to the site (MCP, subscription, no key) versus the site calls a model itself (built-in Copilot, API key needed — a subscription login lives on your computer and cannot be borrowed by a server). The Copilot screen says the same and points to the no-key path.
