Notesify v1.2.1

A focused refinement release for Notesify — introducing voice dictation for Iris, a redesigned conversation history experience, and a series of desktop and UI improvements.

🎙️ Voice Dictation for Iris

Iris can now accept voice input directly from the chat composer.

  • Added a dedicated Speech-to-Text subsystem powered by OpenRouter's Whisper Large V3 Turbo.
  • Browser-native audio recording with automatic MIME type negotiation.
  • 60-second recording safety limit.
  • Live recording timer and visual recording state.
  • Transcription loading state directly inside the voice button.
  • Audio is sent through the authenticated /api/stt/transcribe endpoint.
  • Added a reusable useSTT hook and STTClient abstraction.
  • STT architecture is decoupled from Iris and can be reused for future TipTap/editor dictation.
  • Removed language-selection UI clutter and rely on automatic multilingual detection.

💬 Iris Conversation History

Iris now has a cleaner and more usable conversation sidebar.

  • Redesigned Iris sidebar with a cleaner visual hierarchy.
  • Added dedicated search and sidebar-collapse controls.
  • Added a cleaner New chat action.
  • Redesigned the Recents section and conversation items.
  • Active conversations now use a subtle dark pill treatment.
  • Added hover actions for conversation items.
  • Sidebar width expanded to 260px for better readability.
  • Removed the previous 20-session history limit — Iris can now load the complete conversation history.
  • Improved collapsed-sidebar behavior to prevent toggle/button overlap.

🖥️ Desktop & Header Improvements

  • Synced application version to 1.2.1 across the root, frontend, and backend packages.
  • Removed the redundant New Note header action.
  • Restyled New Notebook as a primary action.
  • Added safe top-right header spacing for Electron window controls.
  • Generated a new Windows NSIS installer for v1.2.1.

✨ UI / UX Refinements

Settings

  • Added explicit close (✕) controls across desktop and mobile settings views.
  • Mobile back navigation is now scoped specifically to phone layouts.

Notes List

  • Removed the redundant All / Recent segmented toggle.
  • Fixed note sorting/rendering by correctly using the processed notes collection.

Profiles

  • Consolidated duplicate profile hero-card implementations into the reusable UserProfileCard component.

What's next?

This release establishes the reusable STT foundation for Notesify. The same voice infrastructure can later power voice dictation directly inside the TipTap editor, while Iris continues evolving toward a more capable contextual AI workspace.
