This release delivers a significantly upgraded Iris experience with autonomous interactive question dialogs, real-time response streaming, a collapsible reasoning/status viewer, clickable inline note citations, navigation improvements, and an updated standalone Windows desktop build.

✨ What's New

Interactive Question Dialogs — ask_question

Iris can now autonomously trigger rich in-app interactions when it needs additional input from you.

The ask_question tool supports:

  • Single Select — choose exactly one option.

  • Multi Select — select multiple applicable options.

  • Rank Priority — reorder choices from highest to lowest priority.

Iris can use these interactions to quiz your knowledge, clarify ambiguous requests, gather preferences, or determine priorities.

Responses are handled through the native InteractivePromptDialog, keeping interactions organized without filling the conversation with manual markdown-based questions.

Streaming Iris & Shimmer Indicators

  • Real-time character-by-character response streaming.

  • Animated shimmer indicators while Iris is processing.

  • Instant stream cancellation directly from the Iris interface.

AI Reasoning Viewer

  • Added the collapsible ReasoningCollapsible component for displaying Iris's reasoning/status information during multi-step operations.

  • Keeps longer AI operations transparent without overwhelming the main conversation.

Interactive Inline Note Citations

  • Iris can reference notes using [cite: noteId].

  • References are automatically converted into clickable citation badges.

  • Click a citation to preview or navigate directly to the referenced note.

Header Navigation & Asset Improvements

  • Fixed the application logo to properly navigate back to the workspace home.

  • Updated Vite asset handling for reliable resolution across nested routes and Electron file:// environments.

Settings & Version Alignment

  • Updated the Settings → About section to reflect the v1.2.2 release.

Standalone Windows Desktop Build

  • Published a fresh Windows x64 installer built with Electron Builder.

  • The desktop build retains Notesify's offline-first IndexedDB synchronization.
