LumaFin 1.2.1
LumaFin 1.2.1
- Fast-forwarding or rewinding through long stretches no longer gets LumaFin closed on 2 GB streaming sticks such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The scene previews above the progress bar now use far less memory.
LumaFin 1.2.1 test 3
LumaFin 1.2.1 test 3 (Android TV and Fire TV)
The same as 1.2.1 test 1, to go back from test 2. Test 2's automatic play after skipping is removed: after fast-forwarding or rewinding, press Select or Play to start from the chosen spot.
Includes the fix from test 1: fast-forwarding or rewinding through long stretches no longer gets LumaFin closed for low memory on 2 GB streaming sticks.
Installs over test 2, 1.2.0 or any 1.2 test build, no uninstall needed. If LumaFin closes on its own, just open it again: test builds send a crash report when they restart.
LumaFin 1.2.1 test 2
Withdrawn: install 1.2.1 test 3 instead.
LumaFin 1.2.1 test 2 (Android TV and Fire TV)
A test build. Everything in 1.2.1 test 1, plus:
- After fast-forwarding or rewinding with the remote, the movie plays from the spot you picked two seconds after you stop pressing, without pressing Play. If it was paused before, it stays paused.
Installs over 1.2.0 or any 1.2 test build, no uninstall needed. If LumaFin closes on its own, just open it again: test builds send a crash report when they restart.
LumaFin 1.2.1 test 1
LumaFin 1.2.1 test 1 (Android TV and Fire TV)
A test build. Everything in 1.2.0, plus:
- Fast-forwarding or rewinding through long stretches no longer gets LumaFin closed for low memory on 2 GB streaming sticks such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The scene previews above the progress bar now use far less memory.
Installs over 1.2.0 or any 1.2.0 test build, no uninstall needed. If LumaFin closes on its own, just open it again: test builds send a crash report when they restart.
LumaFin 1.2.0
LumaFin 1.2.0
LumaFin now looks the same on every screen, and there's more you can set up your way.
- Request movies and shows: with the SeerrFin plugin on your server, Home shows what's trending and coming soon, plus your own requests and where each one stands. Every title opens its own page, just like the ones in your library, with the cast, a trailer and similar titles. Request it there, choose which seasons you want, or request the seasons a show you have, or have already asked for in part, is missing.
- New settings: a full-screen layout with a category menu and Back to Home at the bottom. Each category says what's inside, Appearance is split into smaller pages, every choice shows its current setting, and About shows your version and whether an update is out.
- Make Home yours:
- Choose the top bar style.
- Pick landscape or portrait cards.
- Pin genres, studios, playlists and Favorites.
- Remove shows from Up Next.
- Choose which libraries appear in the side menu.
- Your server's Home layout: if your server uses the Home Screen Sections plugin, LumaFin can show its rows.
- One look everywhere: cards, spacing, row titles and the clock now match across Home, libraries, details pages, actor pages and search. Cards show the year and rating.
- Better details: episode pages show the show's main cast as well as guest stars. Top Rated favours well-reviewed titles. Titles with only a poster show it in full.
- Fixes:
- Home no longer jumps back to the top while you browse.
- Titles you're watching again no longer show a watched check.
- Search opens on a clean background.
- Subtitles are shown above the player controls.
- Movies and episodes start faster, right at your resume point.
- Dolby audio starts reliably through soundbars and receivers, and your audio and subtitle choices stick.
- Video no longer stays frozen after a big skip.
- Less memory use during playback, so LumaFin is steadier on 2 GB streaming sticks.
- Pressing Back on a details page after watching no longer closes the app.
- Fixed a crash when a phone sends a title while another is playing.
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 24
LumaFin 1.2.0 test 24 (Android TV and Fire TV)
A test build. Everything in test 23, plus:
- Pressing Back on a movie's details page after watching it no longer closes the app. This happened when the TV switched picture modes, such as HDR, during the movie.
Install over test 23 with Downloader. If LumaFin closes on its own, just open it again.
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 23
LumaFin 1.2.0 test 23 (Android TV and Fire TV)
A test build. Everything in test 18, plus:
- Episodes start faster. The app no longer loads up to 150 following episodes before playing.
- With a soundbar or receiver, playback no longer stops and restarts a moment after it begins.
- The audio track you pick, for example Dolby Digital for a soundbar, is now the one that plays, right from the start.
- Subtitles that one movie turns on by itself no longer carry over to the next movie.
- Memory is now freed after closing a details page or the player, which helps Fire TV Sticks.
- Fixed a crash when a plugin is installed on the server.
Install over test 18 with Downloader. If LumaFin closes on its own, just open it again.
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 18
LumaFin 1.2.0 test 18 (Android TV and Fire TV)
A test build. Same as test 17, with all the memory fixes for Fire TV Stick crashes, plus:
- Crashes, and times the system closes LumaFin (for example for low memory), are now also sent to LumaFin's own crash server, so we see them right away. Server addresses, IP addresses and sign-in tokens are removed before sending. Store versions don't do this.
- A crash is no longer reported twice.
Install over test 17 with Downloader. If LumaFin closes on its own, just open it again.
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 17
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 17
A test build of the next LumaFin for Android TV and Fire TV. It installs over LumaFin 1.1.2 or an earlier test build and keeps you signed in.
New in this build
- Uses less memory while playing, especially on 2 GB devices like the Fire TV Stick 4K Max: the Home backdrops and cached images are freed while a video plays, the video buffer adapts to the device's memory, and two places that kept old players and subtitle renderers in memory are fixed. Long skips in 4K movies could run the device out of memory and close the app.
- The scrub bar no longer shows dark squares for titles that have no preview images.
Fixed in recent test builds
- When the system closes LumaFin (out of memory, a decoder crash or a freeze), it sends a report to your Jellyfin server the next time you open it.
- Resume starts right at your spot, so playback and sound start sooner.
- No crash when a title is sent from a phone while another one is playing.
- After skipping far ahead or back, the video no longer stays frozen until you press Play.
Also coming in 1.2: settings in a full-screen layout, a second Home style, one action menu for every card, Seerr requests and card style choices.
Install: download the APK below and open it with Downloader on your TV. If LumaFin came from the Amazon Appstore or Google Play, uninstall it first.
If it closes unexpectedly: open LumaFin again afterwards so it can send the report.
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 15
LumaFin TV 1.2.0 test 15
A test build of the next LumaFin for Android TV and Fire TV. It installs over LumaFin 1.1.2 or an earlier test build and keeps you signed in.
New in this build
- On devices with less memory, like the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, LumaFin keeps a smaller video buffer. Long skips in 4K movies could use up the device's memory and close the app.
- Resume starts playing right at your spot instead of loading the start of the video first, so playback and sound start sooner.
Fixed in recent test builds
- When the system closes LumaFin (out of memory, a decoder crash or a freeze), it sends a report to your Jellyfin server the next time you open it.
