Thx for the report! I will probably try to fix this in my plugin bundle; the MetaYAML plugin should really be enabled there (not sure why it isn't).

Just out of curiosity, though, what problem are you trying to solve? That is, is the lack of a META.yml (vs the META.json, which is there) causing some specific error in some specific context?
