Install of Ruby on Rails fails

What's wrong?

Attempting to install Development → Ruby on Rails fails. Neither Ruby nor Rails is installed because the Ruby build process errors out.

In my case ruby-erb needed to be installed. After installing ruby-erb, the Ruby build completed successfully and Ruby on Rails installed as expected.

The error message looks like this:

psych:
	Could not be configured. It will not be installed.
	Check /tmp/ruby-build.20250920182257.861725.Uw0g8r/ruby-3.4.6/ext/psych/mkmf.log for more details.

BUILD FAILED (Arch rolling on x86_64 using ruby-build 20250916.1)

mkmf.log includes the following error:

conftest.c:3:10: fatal error: yaml.h: No such file or directory
    3 | #include <yaml.h>
      |          ^~~~~~~~

mise use --global ruby behaves the same.

After running sudo pacman -Sy libyaml, the installation worked as expected.
