Touch Bar not working + thermal shutdown after latest Omarchy update (MacBook Pro T2)

What's wrong?

Summary

After updating Omarchy, two regressions appeared on my MacBook Pro 2019 (T2 chip):

1. Touch Bar stopped working (was working correctly on a fresh install).
2. Severe heating issue: laptop overheats and shuts down/reboots, which did not happen before.

Hardware

• MacBook Pro 2019 (T2 chip, Intel CPU)
• CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9880H CPU @ 2.30GHz

Software

• OS: Omarchy 3
• Kernel: Linux 6.16.1-arch1-Watanare-T2-1-t2

Steps to Reproduce

1. Fresh install of Omarchy → Touch Bar works.
2. Update to latest Omarchy → Touch Bar disappears, overheating begins.
3. System eventually shuts down or reboots due to thermal issue.

Expected Behavior

• Touch Bar should remain functional after update.
• Laptop should not overheat or shut down.

Actual Behavior

• Touch Bar is missing after update.
• System overheats and restarts.

Hey it took some fiddling around, but I got it working completly on my macBook Pro T2 with everything working. For the touchbar I created a script to reload the apple-bcm. And I used the kernel from t2linux.org. If you have some more questios just ask. Maybe I can shre the script and loaded it as a systemd service after startup automatically

You should install and enable tiny-dfr (Touch Bar daemon) and t2fanrd (Fan control daemon to combat overheating).

I encountered the touchar issue too, the t2 repo was removed from pacman.conf, check pacman.conf.bak and cherry pick the missing lines.

sudo pacman -Syy
# Install the T2 kernel helpers and Apple Broadcom firmware
sudo pacman -S apple-bcm-firmware linux-t2 linux-t2-headers t2fanrd apple-t2-audio-config
